I wasn't expecting Cleverly to get knocked out like that.
I'll be voting for Kemi. Once again, the Tories leading the way with a black woman as party leader. Even the lefties must surely be impressed with their commitment to diversity and minority representation.

I thought Jimmy C was the front runner? What happened?

It looks like some of his backers may have misjudged a tactical vote for Jenrick in an attempt to knock out Badenoch. if that turns out to be correct, it will be hilarious.

Labour MP's rushing to declare the result as a "gift"

That really would be so funny.

Seems a few MPs inferring this was down to vote lending that backfired, either from Jenrick yesterday or JC today. Silly.

Dumb or Dumber neither will ever make a serious challenge to the Labour Party .

Can’t see how KB progresses past the Tory silver gammons.

I believe Jenrick makes Kemi look normal.

I dunno…all they have to do is provide some nutty reform like policies and opinions and the likes of Donut and Bera will come streaming back

Whilst I would love for this to be true, I’d guess it’s more likely to be Dimlys team refusing to accept the result. You know, finding an excuse for the failure rather than admitting he’s not very good.

Bet whoever wins doesn't make it to the next election.

It will be another coup. The member's choice will be tolerated until they spectacularly f*ck up, and then Cleverley will be parachuted in.

Jenrick would be such an obviously terrible choice that I reckon the Tory membership could actually go for him. Badenoch seems a lot brighter but perma-furious and loves a feud.

The thing is, both are so obviously fake, that even the party faithful are not convinced of either candidate's hard right posturing. But they'll take the opportunity to further emphasise the policy direction they want a conservative party to take.

Both are a bit meh
Kemi would be more fun though as it’s another example of the far right misogynistic Tories hiring in contrast to the old white blokes who run Labour.

Jenrick reminds me of the Harry Enfield character Tim, nice but dim.

It was only a fewish years ago that the Tories, when in power, appointed a man the minister for women....enough of this the Tories are the progressive party nonsense...

Jenrick once got caught out for regularly claiming petrol expenses and train fares for the same journeys. He's got the makings of a Tory leader I reckon

It's the Tories that have now delivered three women Prime Ministers, a British Asian Prime Minster and have appointed a shed load of minorities to some of the highest offices in Government (Javid, Cleverley, Patel, Badenoch, Zahawi, Raab etc). The same can be said for prominent gay and lesbian Tory MPs (Dehenna Davison, Gove, Fabricant, Holmes, Blunt, Evans etc). And that's before we even get started on Penny's hair.
For all their identity politics and tokenistic gestures, Labour are reduced to bragging about having Britain's first woman chancellor, just a mere quarter of a century after the first Tory PM).
Face it, when it comes to progressive politics, the Tories have well and truly beaten Labour at their own game.
