After Farrige and Moggy openly boasting about stripping monies out of the EU, I hope our authorities are looking at it

She's been found guilty of embezzlement of European funds and immediately barred from running for office. She's also been sentenced to four years in prison with two years suspended and and the other two to be served outside jail with an electronic bracelet, and a €100,000 fine.

I now expect the bot community to start working overtime to suggest it's all a stitch up to prevent her from becoming president in 2027.

These people see it as a badge of honour and bizzarrely, in today's mental world, is seen as a positive by many of the elctorate. It'll probably help her cause more than hinder it.

Do we need to come up with an alternative phrase to 'in prison' as it seems many never have to step foot in one.

And I suspect there will be interesting stuff if they also looked at UKIP/Brexit/Reform/Farage in general.

Well, now you come to mention it, wasn't there an attempt to "smear" that fine man, Mr Trump, in the US and look how well he's done! It seems the left will stoop to any level to besmirch the good name of these lovely people.

The mere fact you’ve mentioned that on here suggests you think it could be a possibility.

Although, as far as I know, only Imran Khan is in jail. But what would you expect from loony left Pakistan?

From what I've just read Le Pen was found guilty of embezzling 5 million euros . Wasn't Christine La Lagarde found guilty of embezzling 500 million euros yet within two years she was the President of the ECB. Double standards ?

Double standards and whataboutery. Let's get this straight. They are all corrupt and custodians of the political system for the benefit of the ruling class.

Yeah I got that wrong . It was 400million euros , not 5.

But she wasn't found guilty of embezzling anything. So the figure doesn't really matter

Christine Lagarde was not found guilty of embezzlement. She was convicted of criminal negligence in relation to her role in approving a €400 million payout to businessman Bernard Tapie while she was France's finance minister. Despite the conviction, she faced no punishment and continued her role as the head of the International Monetary Fund before moving on as President of the European Central Bank. She has not faced any sanctions on her participation in major institutions or public life.
