Bonnne at Southend

Maca Bonne is being slated on the Southend forum . Yesterday he played loan upfront and the fans slated him for being not fit and lack of pace. He has played several games and has not looked like scoring. My friend is aSouthend season ticket holder and I warned him that he is not the player he was 5 years ago. Moncur after starting well for the first few games is now looking like a 60 minute player according to my friend. I did warn him. Won’t be surprised he if he is sent back to us in January

I'd have Moncur back at the O's in January - if he can find some kind of form as he did towards the end of last season. Found myself in Oldham earlier this month as they eked out a home draw with Southend, and Moncur ran the show and provided a lovely whipped free kick assist for the Southend opener.

I sat in the home end behind the goal - quite an experience. The central section stood throughout the match, and was choc full of teenage vapers creating a permanent cloud akin to a smouldering forest fire. I had to move seats but still enjoyed the experience - especially the half-time chip butty!

Moncur is finished here. The only reason he’ll be back at Orient in Jan is because Southend sent him back for not being good enough… in the conference.

If Moncur is sent back in January, would be an option off the bench for the last third of the game. Shame the way Bonne has deteriorated so much in form since his time at the Os. Well remember his non stop running, pressing and goal scoring threat. Once Harrold got fit, what an option he was off the bench plus of course we had the young Josh Koroma !

If Moncur is sent back in January, it’s because a National league team don’t think he’s good enough to play National league football

It could also be because HMRC will be persecuting them by dragging them through the bankruptcy courts by then.

Not the height of analysis to say Bonne isn't the player he was 5 years ago, since if he was he wouldn't be at Southend on a free.

Nevertheless, I thought he would be good at National League level . I'm surprised that's beginning to look like not the case .

Indeed, if he couldn't get a game in pre-season he has next to no chance now with Ball's arrival and even Obiero would be ahead in the queue (and he can't even get in the squad atm)

Sad that Bonne seems to have lost his touch, he's not even that old is he? A player who brought us some great memories getting out of the dreaded NL so hope things pick up for him.
