Re: Richie Wellens interview post Posh
On one of Richie's last points, mid week games have always been hard for me to get too due to work commitments. I buy a season ticket every season even though I know I'll be missing a handful of games because they are mid week . I'm sure I'm not the only person who can't make it to mid week games due to work . However Saturday's are different and we'll be there in numbers . Saying that I might be able to make the mid week game against Rotherham in a few weeks time .

Really good interview. He’s got his swagger back and rightly so after the last few performances. Enough swagger to dig out the fans that didn’t show up, Perkins, Hemming for the pen, ONeill for the first goal etc.

He looks and sounds much more at ease with the situation than a few weeks ago. Good news for everyone.

Understandably. He knew we’d be fine (as did a few others) but it’s still difficult to sound convincing after 4 straight defeats.

Thought it was a good interview.
Was fortunate enough to have a week in Rome last week, our club and the mood of us all is transformed since before I went away, credit to all.

Great interview. I reckon Keeley will be in goal against Wrexham. Hemming isn’t as bad as he showed first 4/5 games but he’s not great either. A better keeper would have stopped that attack that led to the pen and possibly would have even done better with the first (although harsh to blame the keeper for that).

First time he’s publicly criticised Hemming. I agree, that could well be the reason given to stick Kelley in goal on Saturday.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 7:20 am Great interview. I'll be very surprised if Keeley is in goal when Hemming is the more experienced of the two.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 7:20 am Great interview. Having watched the goals, doubt even a top goalie would have done much different as whilst their bloke takes a heavy touch, it wasn't enough for the ball to get away from him.

Not only that but like I said before, you shake hands with the devil (sky) you can’t expect anything else . All these clubs voted for it now there complaining that the grounds are less full. What do they expect on a work night. Getting home really late or sitting in front of the tv feet up cup of tea or a beerRich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 7:11 am Unfortunately the club are letting him down with outrageous ticket prices…

I don’t disagree that the sky deal is poo poo for fans but this was rearranged for international call ups. I wonder if the club going forward considers the financial impact of a Saturday game (where this would have been near enough a sell out) vs losing a few players.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 8:44 amNot only that but like I said before, you shake hands with the devil (sky) you can’t expect anything else . I don’t think there was more than a few hundred people who stayed in because they could watch on tv (could you watch on sky last night?)

The only reason it didn’t get away from him was because Hemming was slow to get out to it. Someone with better instincts would have gotten there ahead of their playerFellowo wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 8:00 amI'll be very surprised if Keeley is in goal when Hemming is the more experienced of the two.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 7:20 am Great interview. Yes I watched it on sky because I live quite away from the ground plus I meet up with a few mates and they too live outside London and they couldn’t make it either. But will be there on Saturday hopefullyRich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 8:47 amI don’t disagree that the sky deal is poo poo for fans but this was rearranged for international call ups. Mid week games virtually always have a smaller attendance compared to Saturday's for a load of reasons . , Travel , work , etc .Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 8:53 amYes I watched it on sky because I live quite away from the ground plus I meet up with a few mates and they too live outside London and they couldn’t make it either. But will be there on Saturday hopefullyRich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 8:47 amI don’t disagree that the sky deal is poo poo for fans but this was rearranged for international call ups. Re: Richie Wellens interview post Posh
Would have gone had the game stuck to its original date. Club obviously decided having a full squad was more important than a fuller ground, which is the right decision on a sporting level but will have lost us a fair few fans.
6.5k being a disappointment is a sign of how much healthier our gates are these days. Well above what we've averaged for almost the entire time I've been going.

Exactly, I really don't see spending £40 on travelling to a game, when I can watch it in my living room as cost effective. And I have a season ticket!

The way he was mentioned specifically by Richie for giving away the pen makes me think Keeley will get a chance on Saturday.

Re: Richie Wellens interview post Posh
What was the real attendance last night? It felt pretty sparse but I thought the atmosphere was pretty decent for most of the game.
Lots of excuses being reeled out by our 'fans' for not bothering to go last night but it's their loss, was a great game overall.

Re: Richie Wellens interview post Posh
He frightens me so god knows how the defence feels, he doesn’t dominate his area, his positioning is awful, doesn’t release the ball quickly, kicking isn’t great and you can sense his apprehension when the ball is coming his way. Hope I’m wrong but I think there’s more mistakes to come. The club has a big decision to make come the next window. Hopefully they will sign a better keeper and also the left back Currie.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 9:03 amHemming has played well recently so I have no doubt he will be in goal Saturday .Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 7:27 amFirst time he’s publicly criticised Hemming. Re: Richie Wellens interview post Posh
They'll be various reasons why people can't attend midweek games.
I go with my mother in law and my daughter.
Neither of them go to midweek games.
MIL has to look after her husband in the evenings who has a long term illness and with my daughter it's a school night and if she goes to midweek game we'd be lucky if she got to bed before 10.45.
Also as someone else said the Sky deal it make it easier for people not to attend. I could've come yesterday but had something crop up that meant it was handy it was being shown. If hadn't been I probably would've come.

It also bodes the question of a larger stadium when clearly the locals don't support the club. On a personal note, I very rarely make a game nowadays living 110 miles away and going on my own no other O's supporters in the house.A bus ride ,two mainline trains, two tube trains is a chore, especially on your own and at my age. An excuse , of course it is, but what about the locals filling the attendance void
