Shrewsbury game & where we go from here

Unfortunately, my first game of the season.
We had about 450 fans who were really let down by the team.
I have to say that it wasn't looking good in the first 10 mins or so, we were scrappy & disjointed. Shrewsbury took their 1 main chance in the first half & whilst we dominated possession, we did very little with it.
However the situation was eminently retrievable & then came the second half when I thought we were awful. Shrewsbury outfought us & smothered us. They were far the better side & should have scored their second long before it came.
Again, we had mainly pointless possession & their keeper did not have 1 shot to save.
I thought we had no fight & no creativity. Dan was probably the best of a poor bunch.
Putting this into perspective, I have seen worse O's days & this can't compare with the bad times in L2 & the National League. However, whilst very early days, this is a huge wake up call - a real drubbing by one of the weak L1 teams. Make no mistake, this game was important & we utterly blew it.
My view is that if we don't turn this round by the next month or so then we are in real trouble. At the moment we look way off the pace.
I also have to say that from a personal perspective, I found this game difficult. It's the first match I've attended since my mum died in early July. She was a big O's fan & I always phoned her after a game, regardless of the result.
I can imagine what she would have thought about this game.
Not looking forward to the next few games, I must admit.

We have Reading,Stockport away Wrexham at home,We have no decent forwards apart from Dan A,a absolute tw-t as a goalkeeper, no box to box midfielder, another inexperienced loanee goalkeeper,Graham,Theo,Simpson holding hands on the treatment table( two of whom we may never see this season) a couple of below average freebies sitting on the bench,we have a 39 and 33 year old experienced players ready to come on if needed when it all starts to go tits up plus more average loanees ready to jump on and sh-t beer now being sold in the supporters club. All looking good to meπŸ‘
