Clay can’t do the deep lying, holding role. Neither can Wright. Bizarrely, Jobi is the best we have at that.

We need a ball winning, holding CM. All other talk is just papering over this issue.

We need to stop playing wing backs who are not wing backs and get back to 442.

If they can't do that, what can they do?

Clay plays further forward and harries the deeper midfielders when they have the ball, trying to stop them playing football.

Wright is the playmaker, linking play between our defensive right wing back and our defensive left wing back.
