My best is 6 but I think with the correct stone, the right type of lake, and a smooth wrist action I reckon 7-8 is a possibility.

Anything is possible. Fail to prepare. Prepare to fail. Regular training sessions are vital.

The World Stone Skimming Championships are held each year on the tiny Scottish island of Easdale. There are old slate mines there and lots of slates on the beach which are the best skimmers. The winning throw is recorded by distance rather than the amount of actual skims. Current record is about 400 feet

An American is reputed to have made a stone skim 88 times. Was probably Trump I'd guess.

Kite surfing now also an Olympic sport !!
Remember back in 1968 there was a television play made by the BBC called "The Year of the Sex Olympics"!!

Frst broadcast on BBC2 as part of Theatre 625. It stars Leonard Rossiter, Tony Vogel, Suzanne Neve and Brian Cox, and was directed by Michael Elliott. The writer was Nigel Kneale, best known as the creator of Quatermass. Influenced by concerns about overpopulation, the counterculture of the 1960s, and the societal effects of television, the play depicts a world of the future where a small elite controls the mass media, keeping the lower classes docile by serving them an endless diet of lowest common denominator programmes and pornography. The play concentrates on an idea the programme controllers have for a new programme that will follow the trials and tribulations of a group of people left to fend for themselves on a remote island. In this respect, the play is often cited as having anticipated the craze for reality television. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Year_ ... x_Olympics

I watched the Kite surfing and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very skilful and fast etc.
Was a much better watch than some blokes/women in bucket hats and baggy tracksuit bottoms, with Adidas sambas writhing around like they are having an uncontrolled fit after being knocked over by a car.

They’ve had toffs on dancing horses for years, so not sure why people are so shocked/angry at these new events.

The dancing horsey stuff is the worst "sport" and needs to be binned pronto.

I'm up for new things being tried at each Olympics. Sure, there will be plenty of events which don't catch on and get dropped, but every once in a while it will be worth it. I've quite enjoyed some of the BMX stuff, for example. And I much preferred kite surfing to the sailing stuff.

All the toff ‘sports’ - dancing horses, sailing, fox killing, rowing - need to be removed immediately.

Am I right in thinking that town planning was once an Olympic sport?

Nah, rowing can stay. But it needs to be made more accessible to the lower classes.

That is correct.

So there's hope for boardin' yet. I could see a point system for multi-quotes, eagles, reverse threads etc.

They should introduce something like Running Man. I guess they could do it with paintballs or something

Also, Gladiator type fights

Arm wrestling and Skittles should also be included.

I remain unconvinced by the kiddies bike race thing.
