Didn't fancy the Olympic opening ceremony so went to a Pre Season game at Braintree Camb U won 3-0 and were very impressive - completely different style to the O's. Played and moved the ball at a very high tempo be interesting to see if they can do that in League One. Braintree gone full time and have an almost new team to last seasons play off winning side and on last nights evidence I think they are destined to make an immediate return to Conference South.

Interesting, went to Cambridge a few times last season for various reasons but thought they were poor. I see that they have bought in some new players, did any catch your eye? However think they will struggle this season.

Good little left winger called Barton he was very quick and put some good balls into the box, only Young but a good player in the making.

Dan Barton, Cambourne based Dan spent the majority of the 2022/23 season out on work experience with St Neots Town along side having a big impact within the FA Youth Cup run. An exciting fast-paced winger who has the ability to make a big impact in games coming in from wide areas.

Wonder if he was the kid they got from Barnet a couple of seasons ago?

Reading up on Dan Barton, seems like he has come through their youth setup, hope he continues to make his mark at that club.
Well done Cambridge United for giving young players a chance to play professional football.
