I'm no IT expert but, if this guy is and he's correct, then this could be quite serious.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 11:36 am Been caused by a crappy update for an anti-virus called 'Crowdstrike'

In a lot of cases yes. I believe there are tools to remotely access that recovery environment, but if you aint got it and you're affected you'll be busy.Dunners wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 12:00 pmI'm no IT expert but, if this guy is and he's correct, then this could be quite serious.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 11:36 am Been caused by a crappy update for an anti-virus called 'Crowdstrike'

I don’t work Fridays but apparently some vehicle lookups are down.
My mate is completing on a house today and the banks systems might stop that happening…

Re: Microsoft
George Kurtz, CEO of Crowdstrike was CTO at McAfee back in 2010 when they issued a dodgy data update which brought millions of PC's down. Is he just unlucky?

Apocalyptic traits must run in the family. His Dad Walter was a Colonel in the US military during the Vietnam War. He deserted, went mad and recruited a bunch of followers who worshipped him in the camp he ran in the heart of the jungle.

Re: Microsoft
We were one of the first to be hit by this with our lvdi sessions hanging and needing to be restarted about 5 hours before you posted this. After a couple of hours a workaround was found, surprised the problems persisted for so long.
