Still saying we need 4 or 5. Thought that might be 5 or 6 with Piggot gone.

I suppose it's all about the money. . I'd rather we signed 4 quality players instead of 5 or 6 mediocre ones .

I did hear 4 or 5, however if you look at the squad it has to be minimum 6 incoming players
1xGK
2xFB
2xCM
1 x No.9

We have 2 fullbacks. Need only 1 more. We have only lost Hunt

I doubt there will be another forward added. Wellens usually play with a front 3. That’ll be a mix of Ageyi oneill Graham Perkins Kerman Dj. With Archibald to add to that at Xmas.

But one of them is Sweeney who was barely trusted at all last season and James doesn't have the pace when we come up against the really fast wingers.

Don't want to be seeing Galbraith wasted at RB again as he's too much of an asset in midfield so really a first choice LB and a faster RB needed.

We need cover for Agyei, Kelman just doesn't have the same physicality despite his excellent workrate

Definable need a quality goal scoring striker to replace Ruel.

Does anyone realise Ruel wasn’t a goal scorer?

Because Galbraith - our most talented, creative player - was wasted standing in at RB.

Our top goal scorer last season ?
Not sure what all the fuss is about. Dan Agyei, Shaq Forde, Ollie O'Neil, and even Daniel Adu-Adjei, all had a better goals per minute ratio than Ruel Sotiriou last season.

Having seen them, I think 3 of the triallist will get deals. Hutchinson at RB & the Luton midfielder particularly impressed at Hearts.

Who is the third one you reckon, Penney?

Didn’t come across that way on the stream. The first half left back seemed worth a second look but the others were all bang average, would be signing them just to have bodies in the squad….

I thought Penney was the worst of them. Off the pace for the first 15-20 minutes and literally did nothing right. I will caveat that with the fact that last season Dan Agyei (before he got injured) was very poor - so pre-season may not be the best indicator.

I gave you the two stand outs (IMO) but beyond that it would be guess work. What was apparent was that all of the triallists were competent. We didn't have a superstar amongst them - but none of the triallists were time wasters. The keeper gave away a shocker and looked like less of a ball player than Bryn - but even he made a very good save with his last touch. Unless we were taking him on then I don't see the reason for trialling him (he's a Fulham boy and the younger brother of the Stevenage keeper).

It was not difficult to see them all being signed, but I doubt that will happen because Wellens and the club will want to keep their options open.

Fair enough.

We obviously see things differently but' I'd really like a triallist to come in and look the business, rather than simply not looking sh*t. Not being a time waster is hardly a ringing endorsement.

This doesn't make sense. The whole point of a trial is literally to assess if the player is worth taking on.

Superstars don't do trials
