I suppose it's all about the money. . I'd rather we signed 4 quality players instead of 5 or 6 mediocre ones .Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 12:05 pm Still saying we need 4 or 5. Thought that might be 5 or 6 with Piggot gone.
But one of them is Sweeney who was barely trusted at all last season and James doesn't have the pace when we come up against the really fast wingers.Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 1:12 pmWe have 2 fullbacks. Need only 1 more. We have only lost Hunt
And a goal scorer to replace Ruel !!!!!!gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 3:11 pmBut one of them is Sweeney who was barely trusted at all last season and James doesn't have the pace when we come up against the really fast wingers.Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 1:12 pmWe have 2 fullbacks. Don't want to be seeing Galbraith wasted at RB again as he's too much of an asset in midfield so really a first choice LB and a faster RB needed.
Definable need a quality goal scoring striker to replace Ruel.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 3:13 pmAnd a goal scorer to replace Ruel !!!!!!gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 3:11 pmBut one of them is Sweeney who was barely trusted at all last season and James doesn't have the pace when we come up against the really fast wingers.Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 1:12 pm

Our top goal scorer last season ?
Yes
Because Galbraith - our most talented, creative player - was wasted standing in at RB.Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 1:12 pmWe have 2 fullbacks. Need only 1 more. We have only lost Hunt
Not sure what all the fuss is about. Dan Agyei, Shaq Forde, Ollie O'Neil, and even Daniel Adu-Adjei, all had a better goals per minute ratio than Ruel Sotiriou last season.
Who is the third one you reckon, Penney?LittleMate wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 11:17 pm Having seen them, I think 3 of the triallist will get deals. Hutchinson at RB & the Luton midfielder particularly impressed at Hearts.
Didn’t come across that way on the stream. The first half left back seemed worth a second look but the others were all bang average, would be signing them just to have bodies in the squad….LittleMate wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 11:17 pm Having seen them, I think 3 of the triallist will get deals. I thought Penney was the worst of them. Off the pace for the first 15-20 minutes and literally did nothing right. I will caveat that with the fact that last season Dan Agyei (before he got injured) was very poor - so pre-season may not be the best indicator.gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 11:19 pmWho is the third one you reckon, Penney?LittleMate wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 11:17 pm Having seen them, I think 3 of the triallist will get deals. I gave you the two stand outs (IMO) but beyond that it would be guess work. What was apparent was that all of the triallists were competent. We didn't have a superstar amongst them - but none of the triallists were time wasters. The keeper gave away a shocker and looked like less of a ball player than Bryn - but even he made a very good save with his last touch. Unless we were taking him on then I don't see the reason for trialling him (he's a Fulham boy and the younger brother of the Stevenage keeper).
This doesn't make sense. The whole point of a trial is literally to assess if the player is worth taking on.LittleMate wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 11:37 amUnless we were taking him on then I don't see the reason for trialling him (he's a Fulham boy and the younger brother of the Stevenage keeper).
Superstars don't do trialsLittleMate wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 11:37 amI gave you the two stand outs (IMO) but beyond that it would be guess work. It was not difficult to see them all being signed, but I doubt that will happen because Wellens and the club will want to keep their options open.
