Is £400,000 really beyond what we could afford?

No it was doubling the wages minimum of our highest earner, championship budget is up by £5 million

Makes sense for him to have a full season starting role in Championship chance of international squad and still pretty easy to get to and from Paris. As much as he liked orient its probably a more compelling offer and platform

Also the wages required to get his signature.

Can't begrudge him that move. A level up, on better money. Guy has achieved an incredible amount with us over two seasons and will be interesting to see how he copes in the championship. Big shoes to fill.

Sad to see him go but at least there's some certainty now and we know what we need.

Thank you Idris for turning our liability midfield into our greatest asset over the past two seasons. Go smash it in the Championship.

I feel the same. I live in Oxford, so might go and throw plums at his new house.

What do you think about our chances of signing somebody adequately capable of replacing Idris, . I mean of his standard .

Take it this re-writing of history means you're stuck in the Denial stage? Come on, get to Anger - it's more fun.
