We do need another but can't see us signing anyone ahead of Brown, so likely to be another loanee or higher league off cast.
Oberio is definitely going to be a starter for me, let's hope he stands up to the testHoover Attack wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:14 pmWe do need another but can't see us signing anyone ahead of Brown, so likely to be another loanee or higher league off cast.
We now need to replace 2 (Idris and Sanders) but won't be surprised if Obeiro is treated as the Sanders replacement and we only bring in 1...
Yeah I think Ling will see to that making sure he gets Obiero game time as he wants to push the academy. Whether he's any good in a competitive league game not end of season dead-rubbers is another matter entirely.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:14 pmWe do need another but can't see us signing anyone ahead of Brown, so likely to be another loanee or higher league off cast.

Consider us in trouble. Apart from Charlie Kelman, the signings we have through the door at the moment have been very under whelming. These are the type of signings you do towards the end of the window as back ups, these should not be our main targets.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:29 pm Any player is replaceable but Idris is as close as you’re gonna get to being irreplaceable. When he didn’t play last year we look lost. It’s the most crucial signing we make this year and if we get it wrong we could be in trouble
Galbraith isn't a CDMBiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:46 pm He wasn’t great last year. Galbraith is better. We’ll be fine.
Neither is Idrisgshaw wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:52 pmGalbraith isn't a CDMBiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:46 pm He wasn’t great last year. Galbraith is better. We’ll be fine.
Yet he played that role better than anyone else we have. No one else in our squad wins the ball and senses danger like he did. Quiet and effective but will be badly missed now he's not thereBiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:53 pmNeither is Idrisgshaw wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:52 pmGalbraith isn't a CDMBiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:46 pm He wasn’t great last year. No he didn’t. Jordan Brown did. Idris was box to box when fit.gshaw wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:55 pmYet he played that role better than anyone else we have. No one else in our squad wins the ball and senses danger like he did. Quiet and effective but will be badly missed now he's not there
Ill refrain from judgement until the end of July. The sequencing of things can be complex. We'll see. The type of player who replaces Idris will show the intent of the board (i.e. this isn't the year for a push). Getting some loanee's with a view to a permanent move may be more of what we see, which is worryingFrogger wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:47 pmConsider us in trouble. Still no keeper and still no CDM. these are the priority positions IMO.
You used ti be so full of optimism, what's happened in the last couple of seasons?gshaw wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:20 pmYeah I think Ling will see to that making sure he gets Obiero game time as he wants to push the academy. If we cheap out on the CDM we'll be back in League 2 before you can say "Ethan Coleman"
Millwall just got there 1st signing inPoundhillO wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:40 pm Still no quality new signings with experience playing first team football in our league or above that are not sick notes same old , same old .
I don't think we will go cheap as this is one of the main positions we need to fill with quality. Saying that, people MUST be realistic but a lot on these message boards are exactly the opposite. We can't afford what most others in this league can financially so it's about time they accept it.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 4:20 pm If we don’t adequately replace Idris put money on us to get relegated . We definitely can’t go cheap in this area or we’re down
Why are you spouting so much Negatively?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 4:20 pm If we don’t adequately replace Idris put money on us to get relegated . We definitely can’t go cheap in this area or we’re down
Because this season is going to be much tougher than it was last season . So far we’re weaker than we were last season so if we can’t compete on the pitch we’re in trouble.Brigs wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 4:41 pmWhy are you spouting so much Negatively?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 4:20 pm If we don’t adequately replace Idris put money on us to get relegated . They want 7 bee players signed and ready to go for pre-season and they all have to be premier league qualityBrigs wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 4:41 pmWhy are you spouting so much Negatively?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 4:20 pm If we don’t adequately replace Idris put money on us to get relegated . Obeiro is going to be the real deal, no question.gshaw wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2024 3:20 pmYeah I think Ling will see to that making sure he gets Obiero game time as he wants to push the academy.
