Appreciate this may differ between club and international football and circumstances.

Exactly this. For 6 or 7 games in a 4 week tournament watching from the comfort of my own home, I couldn’t give a sh*t. For 26/30 games over the year, I want to be entertained.

Define entertaining. There’s something beautiful about a well drilled defensive unit controlling a game.

A good defensive performance can be satisfying, when against superior opposition, imo.

Entertaining, attacking and winning is the only way.

I'm a bit split on this, when we needed promotion badly to get out of NL and L2 it's win at all costs. Doesn't matter how ugly as long as the goal was met.
Where we are now with that kind of success being very difficult to achieve due to budgetary constraints if the team isn't up for titles / promotion then the games need to be entertaining. Immediately that if we're in a relegation battle though, again results are all that matter at that point.

This.
Club before country every day of the week and if I’ve just turned on the box then I’m not financially invested in it.
Going to matches and paying hard cash I wish to enjoy a spectacle.
Did tournaments for years but no interest now I’m older.

I’m happier when we’ve won ugly than lost playing “attractive” football.
It’s winning that counts.

Is that anywhere near the college of boredom?

Great half that.
No one cares if we lose now, right?

Nothing better than when you watched a crap game, than when you score the winning goal in the last minute.
