It Seems We Cannot Compete...........

...... In the transfer market judging by the quality of the signings we've brought here so far.
All cheap cheap signings of low quality.
We couldn't keep Sotiriou, which was an indicator of the fact we pay low wages
No really good player will sign for us when he can get more somewhere else
We can't compete, and we must be in a relegation battle this coming season

Tend to agree. It’s been hugely disappointing so far. That can change of course but if we sign just one or two more players of the same calibre then we are in a relegation battle.

From what's been said he wanted a wage to match our top earner at the club whereas RW saw him as a "super sub". Personally I'd be more disappointed if we couldn't get the quality GK, CDM and full backs we need because we're paying a bench player top money.
All depends what we bring in next as the next 5 signings all need to be first XI quality. We've filled the bench spots now need the quality.

Latest rumour cropping up is that we are in for Alfie McCalmont - Northern Ireland international midfielder from Carlisle. I do stress it’s a rumour !!

Absolutely . The quality of our signings so far is a big concern which indicates we're in for a long season . I don't know what Nigel was talking about when he said we would be excited about our signings . Maybe it would have been best for Nigel to keep quiet .

Yet with a 10% lower budget last season we were in with a shout of the play offs to around game 38

I'm not sure what all the relegation talk is about. I think the first team at it stands is mid table. A few good signings and we could be pushing for the play offs.

No #1 keeper
No CDM of sufficient quality (remember how bad that position was pre-El Miz?)
Weak full backs with no cover or pace at RB
No cover for Agyei upfront
Relegation quality at the moment outside of CB, which is solid League 1 in strength and depth and at the level we need elsewhere in the squad

'Long Slender Neck' is absolutely correct, we can't compete, we're bringing League Two players in, let's hope RW can inspire the lads to play above themselves

What do you think he did when he played in December time that Ruel failed at? Getting the ball and making it stick. He did both holding it up and can get in behind, that's why he's so vital

I don't think we should be pinning all our hopes on Agyei up front. In fact I definitely think so. We need another decent striker to take the spotlight away from him. That's what I reckon , anyway.

Not talking about his goals, it's the other parts of his game that takes the pressure off the rest of the team. The reason why we looked toothless with Sotiriou in that role and soon as Agyei came in we actually had a clue as an attacking unit. You won't see it on a highlight reel but the difference in results when he came in spoke for themselves.

He can do other things too but he absolutely holds the ball up and is the only one we have who can compete physically with your average L1 centre half.
