I'm sure they are excited, unlike O's fans who are very unexcited at the lack of decent players in the building

You do have to wonder why other clubs are able to do things like that yet we can’t .

And paying Ruel 40% more than our highest earner! I think their owner is a very rich middle Easr ownership group

They don’t have Martin Ling as DOF.

Just quoted by RW on his interview that BR have paid Sotiriou 40% more than our highest earner.
Seems that Pigott would be that person on 4.5k approx so they're paying Ruel 6k+ which is crazy money for what we classed as a benchwarmer

I can’t believe that.
That’s got to be nonsense, surely.

That is crazy money for Ruel. They will soon realise that he is not worth it - unless he scores 25 goals a season

Well done Ruel.
It’s a short career & high risk so he’s done well for himself.
I wish him well & hope he is a success there, apart from when he plays us!

More like 25 over his 3 year contract

If he really is then signing him was a spectacularly bad bit of business. Did we pay a transfer fee as well?

Ritchie seems to think Bristol Rovers are a similar size club to us, so God knows how they are paying what they are

Not sure Richie will know exactly what Ruel is on. And if he does, he certainly shouldn’t be disclosing it.
Definite bit of gamesmanship going on here.

Rovers. Throwing around silly money for average players is a proper red flag

noone seems at all sure how much money our owners have, or are willing to 'invest' i.e. lose. One family owns 55% and the other 45%, or thereabouts, and that has got to create some tensions at some point
Sotiriou's signing seems to be very welcome. We have high hopes for him, and the one O I've spoken to about it thought it very good business for us. The vast majority of the others are defenders
the signings did come in a fairly exciting flurry, though we don't really know any of them. We've had loads of turnover this summer (many more than 7), both in playing staff and some behind the scenes. The still-fairly-new manager is shaping his squad, and most of the newbies are on 3 year deals
many are unsure about the new manager after some very mixed performances in the 2nd half of the season, but by any measure bar featuring in the news he's a country mile ahead of his predecessor
we've got a new, though pretty basic, stand, and not-yet-public plans to add some more to it (allegedly). Overall I'm feeling more positive than I have for a long time, though I do tend to start all seasons full of hope (if not expectation)
