Bit of analysis:
1-0 - Comes from our attack. If you look when the ball comes over, Brophy is by the 6 yard box...They break and we have over half the team in their half still. Happe is naive and gets drawn 3/4th of the way down the pitch chasing their midfielder, he should be left to one of our midfielders. Similarly, Ling is in no mans land, hovering around the ball that JMD is chasing down. The balls played down the right and Marv has done well to get back but the cross is let in too easily, and whilst Happe does well to get back after his charge up field, he is well out of position and his body shape is all wrong, leading to a poor header that flies across the penalty box. Because he's out of position, Brophy, who's also done well to get back but who's body position is also all wrong, is left alone on the left and whilst it's a good finish, Brill doesn't get near it from 25 yards...
They've had a ball pumped over the top and again, Happe has come too far out where either he needs to leave it to a midfielder, or someone has to come over and cover but the ball bounces over everyone and their player should score. Decent save from Brill...It was should have been a sign but...
2-0 - Our own corner, Marv goes charging after the loose ball, Ling is somehow now at Left Back and again, a simple ball one the top where somehow we are 2 on 2 now. Brophy stupidly tries to catch him offside...you've got pace to burn man, get after him! Coulson the only defender trying, and failing to get back. Also, look at their players busting a gut to get forward and our midfield and defenders jogging back.
Clay then tries to beat 8 men, loses it and once again Happe follows his man out. Luckily Brill pushes wide as they had a man waiting, completely unmarked where Happe/Brophy should be.
3-0 - Not much analysis needed... Happe stands still and lets his man get in front of hom. Schoolboy defending.
They break AGAIN because Brophy is too slow. He did well to get back and put him off, but if he squared it, it's 4-0.
Summary:
No one had a good game but IMO Happe has a part to play in all of them. If you are playing with an attacking LWB, you need your LCB to be positionally sound. I really like Dan but on this evidence, he has to adapt quickly. We also were pushing too many forward and they weren't getting back quickly enough. We were counter-attacked 3-4 times, away from home, how does that happen? I like being positive, but you also have to be sensible.
