God forbid we get to see us play a non park team in a friendly.
Was always a feature of our pre season 10-15 years ago which I always enjoyed.

Same, lots of underwhelming opposition just hope the pitches are of decent standardRich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 8:54 pm God forbid we get to see us play a non park team in a friendly.

Wouldn’t be the secrecy.
Liverpool would be my guess too. But it’s really weird.
Wish I was one of the Superfans now

Re: Premier League friendly 20th July
If it were a reserve team I’d expect the opposite: the club would be highly advertising the fixture against a “Premier League” club charging £20 to watch a friendly against what turns out to be a load of teenagers.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2024 7:57 am It’ll be a a reserve team, like West Ham A or similar
The strange secrecy around this fixture makes me think it’ll be a squad of genuine Premier League players who want to test their squad out post-Euros behind closed doors.

Are you going to take the Rev out to lunch first?

Re: Premier League friendly 20th July
This could have some legs.
Us laying on all this on for a team obviously comes with a cost, as well as the revenue we're missing out on.
It's either Travis doing a favour to his Liverpool mates (but the location doesn't make sense), Spurs or West Ham bunging as a few quid to host it, or Ipswich as part of the terms of selling us Idris (Ipswich will have 7 London away games next season, this could be a full dress rehearsal for that).

They're playing us to acclimatise themselves for away games at Spurs and West Ham?

And Arsenal. And Chelsea. And Fulham. And Palace. And Brentford.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2024 3:32 pm They're playing us to acclimatise themselves for away games at Spurs and West Ham?

Re: Premier League friendly 20th July
I'm sure it would prove invaluable for all their squad members who have never been to London before and would otherwise be blindsided by it's unique cultural quirks.

For the logistics of getting to the game.
(Although not sure why they’d want the secrecy - that does point to a bigger club).
Has anyone checked the premier league teams pre season schedules?
