Not sure if I'm on the players side on this or not. Some could easily say that this is the price they pay to receive overinflated salaries, but then are Fifa pushing the players too hard for their own gain and have no consideration for the players health.

Bit like the two friendlies England played last week, why?! They've just finished a season and going into a major tournament. You would have thought the FA would want to wrap the players in cotton wool before the Euros, but no they just saw it as a way of gaining more money.

Interesting to see if the players sue their clubs for taking the money and for arranging ridiculous tours to push their brand.

We can say they earn enough money to put up with it but there are limits to what the human body can handle and pushing beyond that will diminish the quality of how the game is played, plus will encourage even more player hoarding by the biggest teams.

Knock on effect of stuff like a club world cup, expanded champions League, expanded football league trophy, is that we as a lower league team are forced to concede more and more ground for the benefit of the bigger clubs making more money.

That was obviously to prepare for the forthcoming tournament, nothing about making money.

Agreed, will mean bigger squads and more rotation for the bigger teams.

Ludicrous competition, purely designed to earn £££ and, along with the expanded Champions League, probably just created to head off the European Super League idea (for now). Definitely on the players side. Yes, they earn a lot but they're being absolutely flogged in a way that isn't sustainable.

If they played up to the point of what their bodies can physically take year on year, l fear for their health when they get into their later yesrs.

Or even more cynically, implementing the Super League under a different brand.

At some point the smaller clubs will either have to break away to find their own niche in a UK-only domestic league or get crushed so much by the greed of the few at the top it becomes unsustainable.
