Heard a whisper from someone who spoke to Theo yesterday and he's apparently signing a new contract this week πŸ‘

Would expect the club will give him a year to prove fitness though doubt we'll see much if any pitch time given the severity of injury. Will need another winger in to cover his spot while he recovers too

Well we will have O’Neill and Graham so it will probably be a loan at most

He deserves a contract and with his injury he probably hasn’t got too much choice. Strikes me as a focussed and motivated bloke that will return in good shape

Think he is signing a one year contract extension rather than a new contract.

Seems sensible if that's the case, it gives him security on the same terms as last season while he recovers from his surgery.

The club would never have cut him loose. Would damage the club's reputation badly

I have a feeling he will be ok after this surgery. Modern knee surgery has improved so much. It will depend on if he has sustained much damage to other parts of his knee, such as the knee cartilage, being torn etc. Alan Shearer has ACL surgery in around 1993 when he was at Southampton and he went on to have a great footballing career. Lets hope the young man makes a good recovery and comes back to play well again !

No one on this forum really knows the full extent as to what was wrong with Theo's knee before and after the injury that resulted in him having this ACL operation. If his knee had been really bad for a long time then he would not have been able to play football and he would have failed the medical checks done pre-signing for the Os.

Good news and the honourable and decent thing to do to help this very popular young player get through this stressful time in his playing career. I really hope he comes back to full fitness and playing well again.
