Ipswich Town...

...look destined for the Premier League barring a monumental last day cock up. Does this help in our pursuit of El Miz, can't see them needing him and will they be looking to have a clear out in order to get some new faces in to try and keep them up? It's got to be to our advantage

I don't think it's of any relevance now.

He's surplus to their requirements either way. And he's able to attract much bigger and better paying suitors than ourselves, sadly.

Also, there's the thorny subject of Richie...

It could hinder us. If they’d stayed in the championship they might have kept him on the books and loaned him out with a view that he could help them at some point at that level. In the prem they are probably more likely to sell him off and as above, there are bigger suitors than us

Guess there's a chance that if they are in the prem, he'll be let go on a free as the chances of him getting a look in there are even lower and the amount they could get from him would be chump change compared to what they'll earn. But I'd be very surprised if we weren't blown out the water financially by a much bigger team in that scenario.

The key thing is what El Miz wants to do.
And the little matter of RW’s future.

Is he out of contract?

Ipswich are looking to cash in, come what may. They tried moving him on in January, but no-one met their valuation. The chance of another loan deal anywhere is vanishingly small. It's marginally more likely they'd keep him if they don't go up, but even that is unlikely.

So will they use their option and extend it or release him? Guess we'll find out soon.

Basically, yes.

Extend it so they can pocket a fee makes sense.

Some of my Ipswich supporting friends from our time living in Suffolk are bricking themselves that some team will try and pinch their manager Kieran McKenna, similar to Os fans and RW.

Notwithstanding that, if they get promotion next weekend, there will be some very happy faces in Suffolk. Ipswich will be a riot to be in that night - and again later, if Norwich don't come up through the play-offs.

El Mizoni loves it here & doesn't want to move.
Lives in Stratford & said he is only two hours away from his family who live in Paris.
He'll stay as long as we can afford Ipswich's valuation.
Was also told he turned down an approach from Barnsley in the January transfer window.
Barnsley are getting on my t.ts

This is the only thing that matters.

It's a good point but if there's another league 1 club on the eastern side of town that could offer him better terms...🤔

We might be able to convince them to do an Ollie O'Neil type deal Smaller fee and a they get a higher % of any sell on. I'm sure we are trying.

Surely if Ipswich go up to the premier league it makes a huge difference. They'll pocket 100mil from TV rights, why would they quibble over 100k for a player surplus to requirements

I'm sure we can sort that.

My concern is our willingness to match the salary other clubs will be able to offer him...
