We all actually like a bit of crime dont we? It provides us much entertainment. I particuarly stories about fraudsters, murderers and liars. Here's a couple of stories I found interesting recently

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... d-fraud-uk

Woman pretended she was an Irish heiress, its like a real life phishing email.

"she not only had impersonated Jennifer Aniston, but she also convinced people to surrender money to her by impersonating a psychologist, a court-appointed child custody investigator, a psychic, a cancer patient, a witch and an NHL hockey coach."

Then there's this guy who killed and drugged a couple and
"During the trial, the defendant gave evidence from a wheelchair, which Ms Ayling alleged was an effort to attract sympathy from the jury"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-68557589

How did the woman end up with metal tacks in her stomach?

Deliveroo woman bit off customers thumb. Still working.
All riders are self employed and can lend their account to anyone they want - a so-called substitute.
Their systems are wide open to abuse. Just imagine how many illegals are being exploited by this.

No verification required so people with no right to work hire off people with accounts to work then hope the account holder pays them the 70% of the wages they were promised

I just read two interesting books. 1 A Victorian posh lady, who poisoned her Jersey boyfriend with arsenic. She was being wooed by a much more desirable beau. So , she done in the poor ole geezer. Despite being banged to rights by the evidence, she was found not proven and lived a long life in USA in to the 20th Century.
2 A book on Edith Thompson. Her husband was stabbed to death by her lover. Evidence points to her being unaware of her lover's intentions. She wrote loadsa risqué letters to her lover, suggesting she was trying to poison her ole man. Evidence points to this being a fantasy. The ole boy was exhumed and there was no evidence of her being a poisoner. But both were hung in 1923.

Don't even want to read that, saw some details from when she was first charged. Genuinely unsure what I think the punishment should be for this but society at large needs protecting from anyone who gets involved in stuff like this.

Need to track down the sick fucks that paid for this to happen.

As grim as it is, I can understand people arranging this for money. I just can't get my head around people who get enjoyment from it.

Side issue but in things like this, the phrase by a judge “I am entirely satisfied that…” conjures up some funny imagery for me. Like he’s sitting in a velvet chair by a fire, glass of brandy and a cigar, lays back and sighs, deeply satisfied that the motivation for crushing the balls was sexual gratification
