Always wondered why Orient seems to have such a good links into the London Cypriot community, 3 full time international in the last 20 years definitely suggests it's a thing.

Because of our level. Unlikely there will be many playing for Arsenal or Spurs.

It seems specifically true for Cypriots though, wonder if there's youth teams in north/east London that draw heavily from that community that we have good links into.

When I played there was a very strong Cypriot league in North London - not sure if it is still running but I imagine Ruel and Hector got picked up through that.

In the 1960's there was a huge influx of Greek Cypriots into: Tufnell Park, Kentish Town & Camden Town. Quite a few went to my Primary School and then Holloway School.

Admittedly I only saw the first half but he didn't stand out as 'class' to me. Maybe a bit of an overreaction for one of your favourites?

By Hectors standards I thought he was poor last night but he's a class act.

He was heavily marked as part of Stevenage's high press but can't remember him giving possession away once. His role in drawing them in was instrumental in Posh being able to launch those quick attacks.

Even more in the 50’s, the lads mentioned above probably grandchildren of those affected by the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 74.

Thanks Bergen backs up what I saw, by his standards he was very poor last night, someone (Hoover) posted he hardly gave the ball away, he obviously wasn't watching, in truth his passing wasn't good - he's way better than last nights performance.

Still having a great season for them though.
