Catchy Names

What Football Team has a name that catches your imagination ( I am not talking about the team, purely it's name ). Personally I reckon Orient is pretty cool, next to Orient, I go with Accrington Stanley. I reckon Forest Green Rovers is OK, but given what the team is all about, I reckon it was named after a Marketing brain storming event. Duplication of ideas welcomed, it gives an idea of what team has the best name. But it's all in the name, nothing else. What do you reckon?

It’s easy to take for granted, but a lot of London teams have great names when you think about it:
Arsenal
Tottenham Hotspur
QPR
Leyton Orient
Crystal Palace
All bloody great names

Sheffield Wednesday is pretty cool. I mean, being named after a day in the week is pretty unique.

Old castle would be stronger, as it would’ve stood for longer.
A lot of Scottish clubs have properly evocative names

One day I just want to go to a random early round Scottish FA Cup tie at somewhere like Vale of Leithen, Auchinleck Talbot or Bonnyrigg Rose. Even the likes of QoS and Hamilton Academicals are pretty ace. Would be great to just decide on the day if pay on the train fares were in any way affordable.
As for England, basically all the ones mentioned thus far are the best, such as us, Wednesday and Crew Alex. Plymouth Argyle is nice too.

I find clubs that just carry the name of their town/city and followed by "United" are boring.

I also like Bristol Rovers. There's just not enough Rovers anymore.

French club Le Puy Foot 43 is quite a good name, although chanting may be problematic. My local Highland League club, Deveronvale is quite nice as is Clachnacuddin. Albion Rovers must have the dullest name in Scottish football. Bill Shankly played for Glenbuck Cherrypickers in Ayrshire and they produced lots of great players

Appropriate that Cherrypickers would go on to greater heights.

I originally posted this on the Woke Watch thread, but still reckon Munter Hunters FC will take some beating.

"Munter Hunters FC"
It wasn't until the team's social media was scrutinised that they had their doubts.

There is an area of Nailsworth that is called Forest Green. (sorry to be pedantic)

West Allotment Celtic.
Surely there must also be an East Allotment Rangers. If not, someone is missing a trick.

Young Boys always seemed an odd name to me.
I mean you can proudly say 'I love Leyton Orient', but them - not so much

Theatre Royal E15.
Bob Kerr once introduced one of his Whoopee Band as “Vernon Dudley Bohay-Nowell, or VD for short; catchy, isn’t it?”
