Superstition

Wondering if anyone has a superstition on the day of the game. I personally call it the juju. You just can’t mess with it. For instance if I’m watching the game on the tv I have to sit in the same chair with a cup of tea and I won’t move if we are winning until the game is finished. If we are loosing I move chairs. Weird I know. Does anyone else suffer from this for example wearing the same socks to every game or dare I say it the same pants😝

The obvious one is never looking at the live table if we're winning.
My son sent me the live table via WhatsApp during the Burton game, the result was inevitable after that.

I would not call it superstition, but I have habits that I keep to. Same food from the same places; lucky hat. That kind of thing.

On daytime home games I always pat the foot of the Laurie Cunningham statue and say 3 points please Laurie 🤔

All from within the ground, I hope.

I always like to guess how many "away" fans vehicles - coaches and minibuses - will be parked in Brisbane Road..

I’m surprised that there’s not many on here that appear to be superstitious. Personally I am, not only watching the O’s but in general?

I leave my retro scarf on the bannister as I walk out the house and never take it to the match.

That’s gold. I think im going to probably start doing that now I’ve read this.

You sound, like me, the sort of bloke if you see a man riding a bike on a bridge crossing a motorway or tube line you shout ‘50 points’.

I also subscribe to this and also used to never look at the amount of time remaining in a game until the digital scoreboard saw to that. It's introduction doesn't seem to have made any real impact on results or our ability to hold onto a lead however.

I don’t think superstition comes into anything if you have faith in a God, certainly not as a Christian as everything is in his hands ultimately. Many Footballers cross themselves as they run on the pitch, I would imagine these players are so. I wonder if a lot of superstition is actually undiagnosed OCD?
