I know they get assessed but, are they ever told how bad they are?
This guy should be relegated to the national league!

Agree, the ref had an absolute shocker. Worse, we picked up yellow cards for trying to stop Oxford breaking on us after we had been fouled. Has to be the worst ref we have had this season and we’ve had a few.

Not one for highlighting a bias but the extra 2 mins he found at the end summed him up.

According to yesterday's match progam this was the referee's final game officiating.
his bias towards awarding fouls in favour of Oxford and booking our players made me wonder if Oxford had organised a leaving party for him.

Not really because 3 Os players went down with cramp in 89th minute for at least 2 mins delay. So I would say he was right in that respect

How would Os players going down in normal time justify additional time on top of the already allotted stoppage time?

I never said they went down cynically but there was a stoppage of at least two minutes hence the referre added them onto the extra time minutes announced.

Supporters don't complain about to much added time when their team is losing!

That referee yesterday sounded like a right plonker . If that was his last game then just as well .

You can be sure when we're losing the bare minimum of 3-4 mins is added

Believe that was the Lino and not the referee

I would like to think I’m fairly impartial regards to refs but must admit I’m also a little biased regards to our club but the refs this season have been truly awful imo. I think Saturdays game summed up the refs we’ve had this season. The opposition seem to get away with cynical fouls while we on the other hand always seem to get punished. Does this sound like a conspiracy theory? I really don’t know, however it doesn’t excuse Wellens behaviour on the side line but I really like his passion and it’s better than sitting in the dug out writing a description of the game on a note pad. So carry on Richie throwing some f—ks into these numptys while they continue to act like numptys. Controversial I know🫢

I wasn’t aware the Lino was giving free kicks and booking players, but maybe I am wrong 🤷‍♂️

No, there's no conspiracy, you're just biased.

I don't blame Wellens for highlighting the idiocy of the ref and officials yesterday.

I am a big fan of RW, but I have to disagree. If a player of ours is on the end of a wrong decision I don’t expect him to get himself sent off. I expect him to cop it, get back into position and stay on the pitch. That’s the professional thing to do.

It’s not relevant whether RW is right or wrong. He can’t hold the ball. He needs to learn this and stay in a position of influence.

Yes you have a point and I’m not disagreeing but we are all human and to work on tactics all week and prepare a team and have someone demolish that in an instant is
Soul destroying. Personally I would like to see more ex pros or early retirement players encouraged to be refs as they would have more understanding of the game maybe, all be it for 5/10 years maybe

Their striker has just tried to kick the ball out of Sol Brynn's hands and all 4 officials have somehow overlooked it.

If I was playing or managing a team, I'd do exactly the same as Richie did. How could you not?

I understand, but it goes back to professionalism. As I say I don’t expect our players getting sent off for refereeing errors and I don’t expect our manager to either. He won’t win doing this and now we will be without him. It doesn’t matter if he is right. He can’t hold the ball. It’s twice now. I can forgive once.

Just watched it back again. He didn't need to collect the ball, it wasn't anywhere near their players, he would have been able to voice his opinion to the ref and would have got a caution at worst.

I am probably wrong but I thought Richie’s point wasn’t necessarily the foul but the fact we were making a sub and the ball out of play meant we could make it
I also don’t get why it was a red where the same thing would have been a yellow for a player

I think you’re right, he was trying to make the sub. He can’t hold the ball. The referee was terrible and gave us very little all game. RW would be furious if a player got sent off for something similar. He must stop doing stuff like this. Our club needs him around the game, not in the stands.

I’ve watched Matt Harold’s post match interview this afternoon, and yes, he says Richie held the ball to make the sub, which they’d already put in to the 4th official. He didn’t sound very convincing, so not sure if that’s true or not…..

After Richie’s previous red card, something came out about it being a new instruction this year - any interference from someone in the dug out is an automatic red.
