Should have feigned ignorance to really rile them up.

The OFF/Alan Carr guy is brilliant.

A cracking little clip here from 1994, with some talking heads predicting the future of the game with TVs increasing influence.

Have football crowds "moved on"?

I do not think so.

Should they "move on"?

I think so.

Crowds have moved on - certainly at premiership level. Fans have been both priced out by clubs as well as the league disrespecting them by moving games all over the place. We are beneficiaries with youths being able to pay a respectable price to see decent football at a regular time. Its not just us, but all forward thinking lower league clubs are growing their support base. Who wants to support Spurs or Fulham, who have little chance of success. They may as well support the O's who have won a couple of titles in the past decade. Just wait until we have a cup run!!

Agree with you. I was thinking of the hostile/moronic behaviour and attitudes. I suppose it is safe to say is less overt racism, but the taunting related to tragedies that was allegedly witnessed at the Liverpool v United game is still worrying in the extreme

Football at the top level has become just as much about entertainment and the experience, almost like going to the theatre rather than the real die-hards, money is money and a lot of the top of the game is moving to a big hospitality push, they can charge thousands even ten of thousands in some cases for a "posh ticket" with a meal and beers.

Yeah, but there is nothing like being close to the action...

It's incredible, but also entirely typical, that this Dutch side never won a trophy.

I remember in lockdown, watching all of the euro 96 games and it was almost like watching a completely different game.

Blimey - what a team.

Shows that it is not necessarily about having the best players ... they need a team ethos. How many times have we seen it happen when a dogged team refuses to lie down?

Played on those pitches at the "Racecourse" many times.

I was sent off one Sunday whilst playing for Johnstone Rangers for calling the ref a useless fat b*stard. I never got a ban because I gave the ref my mates name.
