People with money own the media. Hope that answers your first question. The answer to the second is the first part of that question.

Daily Star is pretty left wing, IMO.

It's the left wing media that have made me right wing.

I've just seen BBC News described as 'fact based', as if this is something that should be optional for a news outlet.

A lot of radio stations have news thats pretty right wing and I've noticed most are owned now by Global or Bauer.

Daily Mail Group is owned by a non dom Viscount, whatever the f*** that is.
The Russian who Boris gave a peerage owns the Evening Standard although I think thats fairly irrelevant nowadays.
GB News- who owns that? Apparently they are broadcasting ‘turbo cancer’ conspiracy theories and ..
Ofcom say thats fine, their chairman is Michael Grade who was a Tory peer.
Murdoch of course owns The Sun and Times. Used to own Sky- no idea who controls that now.

People with lots of money, want to keep their money or get even more money. So they buy the media outlets & persuade the Public, that altruism is bad. Simple folk should have no money, as they waste it & money should go to the very rich. Hence we have the obscene situation in the UK, where all Public Services have been pared to the bone by austerity, & the media are crying out for tax relief for the very rich.

A lot of the long running fanzines up and down the country have studenty lefty roots.

The Ear and Panda are not alone in that regard.

Panda is also notable for continuing that fine lefty publication tradition of using sh*t fonts.
