Like that they've officially put this as a target. Just hope it's more Brighton/Brentford than Reading/Enemy occupied Orient by the Italians

I’m glad they’ve come up with a new statement. The vagueness might be a bit annoying in the future but for now we are on the way up and it’s good to see the owners see us moving higher.

I’ll be 40 in a few years and all I’ve wanted is to see orient play in the Championship but haven’t got near save for one season.

Are there any L1 clubs that don’t want to be in the Championship?

Finały recognition that the club need massive investment to stand a chance of a sustainable chance of survival once we get promoted to Championship football.

Quote me if I’m wrong but Travis has been saying that long before this statement

There's nothing new in there, this has all been put out before, just not so formally.

Presumably in response to the criticism from fans about the Boards intentions after Richies outburst last weekend.

Interesting that the part of the statement about a new investor becoming a new owner has now been removed (as highlighted by a couple of Twitter accounts)?

Seems like going back to the well of semi-rich Americans is going to be the go-to every few seasons from now on

Think they've realised they need to find some seriously rich Americans now, unless we stop buying food on the High Street pre match.

What could go wrong?

Stating the bleeding obvious, but it’s ridiculous that the financial inequity across the leagues is now such that we basically need to choose between an existence stuck in L1 or L2 - with no prospect of winning anything significant - or mortgaging the whole club on a tilt at something bigger.

Can't see why anyone would invest in a football Club unless they're basically having a gamble that one day they might end up banking some sweet Premier League TV money. Everything else seems like money down the drain with no prospect of return. Unless, as WB says, you're absolutely fine with just bobbing around L1 and L2 forever more (although even then, as in our case, you're still probably going to be several million in the hole).

It shouldnt be that promotion (at any level) equals financial disaster. It should be rewarding financially. I guess clubs arent forced to pay higher(competitive) wages but if you dont you'll be going straight down again.

Would love to be able to compare the average wages of different divisions over time, to see the (presumed) growth in disparity.

Look forward to seeing the results of your investigations later on today.

I don't get this.

We still need to to a bit of tweaking to the remnants of the L2 squad but Wellens has shown he is capable of producing a L1 promotion challenging team with the existing budget. There's no need to mortgage anything to make it to the Championship.

Its the cost of staying there that I think they're worried about.

Of course. But you don't have to ramp up costs...
