Voting With Your Feet

I got a " Ring " ( Amazon ) doorbell a few years ago. Yesterday I got an eMail to say they were hiking their annual fees which allows footage to be stored on the cloud. I was outraged. It was a big hike, & the bell has mixed values. Often does work as well as you would like at times when needed. Sometimes it can be a plain nuisance. Neighbours set it off when walking by at 03.00 hours. I immediately cancelled all subscriptions. Seems I am not alone.

Perhaps you need to alter the detection zone if neighbours setting it off.

Personally haven't got one, feels like too much hassle.

I don't really want to communicate with couriers more than I have to.

Imagine it's a bit beneath you when you're on as much as you are.

Yup hit the greed where it hurts and dump those products. I had a Blink camera at work that was free to use so bought a set for home only to find they'd changed to subscription model. Those went straight back and got Eufy instead, no fees and local storage, sorted.

I'm still a people person, but I draw the line at what are effectively video calls with those on zero hour contracts.
