You are The Richie

After Richie’s comments, and the fact that the window is done. Assuming we don’t go up this year, what are you telling Lingy and the board to do?

Out of contract:
Sotiriou - still only 23, offer him a new contract with a view to be a squad player
James - 2 year deal. Good quality, flexible, good squad player
Pratley - 1 year deal. Good to have around, seems to still have it
Happe - trigger extension
Archibald - 2 year deal. Done enough, good character
Hunt - see ya
Obeiro - I like him and think he has a future but obviously nowhere near first team so let him go.

Sign:
- a new left back
- el miz - do whatever it takes
- Forde who’s out of contract at Watford
- an experienced 15-20 goal striker
- a back up CB
- a number ten
- a new experienced GK
- loan a backup CB
- loan a CM

Team:
New Gk

New lb Happe Cooper Galbraith

El miz Brown
Sanders

Archibald Ageyi Graham

Subs:
Byrne
James
Beckles
Pratley
O’Neil
Forde
New Striker
Moncur

Depth:
Howes
Loan cb
Sweeney
Loan CM
Piggot
Pegrum
Variety of youngsters

Moncur and Piggot need to be moved on to free up budget. Their paltry contributions do not justify their wages. Other than that, I’d be happy to retain everyone else.

Go all out for El Miz. Let him know he can achieve Championship football with us.

Would be good to get Forde back but reckon Watford will have him in their squad next season.

I’d also take Brynn again.

Need an experienced 10 to replace Moncs, ideally one that suits our style of play. Need a senior striker/wide man to replace Pigs/Drins.

GK - Brynn/Howlers

FB - Galbraith/James/Hunt/Sweeney

CB - Beckles/Happe/Cooper/…………

CM - ElMiz/Brown/Pratley/Sanders

10 - ………../Ruel (with Sanders/O’Neill/Galbraith/ElMiz filling in when needed)

Wide - Graham/Theo/O’Neill/Forde

CF - Agyei/……..

You can see how close we are.

You can understand why Richie is so frustrated. 1 striker away from a proper promotion challenge.

Probably wait for the next big club offer and move on lol

If at Orient yeah you've both pretty much nailed it. Pigott looks a lost cause confidence wise and just doesn't suit our style of play so a swap for another senior pro striker.

Again though depends if the club will let El Miz slip through our fingers to save cash, this is where the gap between Richie's ambition and the board's might be the deciding factor

Why would it be that El Miz moves elsewhere in the summer because the club are looking to “save cash”?
You think Vigaroux left for playing time? There are clubs in our league that can offer double what we can fact.

Top of the priority list for next season
INS
1) sign an experienced No.9 goalscorer
2) sign El Miz on a perm deal
3) sign Forde on a perm deal
4) sign Brynn on a perm or a new Gk
5) sign a creative No.10
6) signed a new left back
OUTS
1) get rid of Piggot, yesterdays cameo was embarrassing
2) off load Moncur

I've slated Moncur a lot this season thought he was good yesterday but if the fella is never fit enough to play 90 mins then he has to go.

He’s good for 60/70 mins against sh*t teams that don’t play out from the back so he doesn’t have to press.

According to RW last week Forde and Brynn would be difficult as they will earn much more elsewhere - doubt we can afford El Miz but we can't afford not to try.

Ipswich have option of another year iirc so if they take that up it'll cost a fee to sign him and / or signing on fee for the player. Alternatively Ling sets out to find another 23-ish y/o CM on loan and the cycle repeats from square one (saving money option).

If course Vigoroux went for money and a free front-row Premiership season ticket as sadly that's the closest to the action he's going to get

I doubt Matt le Tissier, Teddy Sheringham even Gazza would have been good at the press. There has to be space for ball players in the modern game surely.

Moncur will be more important to Ritchie's side next season if (a) we do not sign El Miz or (b) we do not sign an equivalent replacement for El Miz. I have no inside track or love for big George but I can see him being around next year.

Or there's the reality that Mizouni is his own man and may decide that he could earn more elsewhere, or fancies a bigger club. Or the possibility that we get blown out of the water by a much bigger bid that we can't afford to compete with. Travis said Peterborough turned down a £3m bid for Hector - even a tenth of that would make Mizouni our most expensive ever signing and shows the numbers that can be at play at this level.

Struggled to believe that one as well, but supposedly there are prem clubs asking after him and we have a significant sell on %, so hopefully something in it.

As some may recall I was big admirer of young Hector but just can't see 1) someone offering that and 2) Peterboro turning it down.

I wonder if Nigel has asked Martin why we let him go 18 months ago for a fraction of that current valuation?

For us he was, 300k for him and getting El Miz in was best business going. Peterborough could afford to stick him in the reserves and develop slowly, we need a ready made CDM right away and if you remember the number of times he gave the ball away / got sent off he was nowhere near that level.

Given a choice of 300k + title + promo to L1 vs 2 million and being mid-table in L2 it's a no-brainer

Well obviously. But firstly, he played 21 times in league one in the season we got promoted. He would have more than contributed at league two level to our success.
And the fact that people disliked him and doubted his ability but Peterborough saw enough to pay £300k and apparently, at only 22 he’s valued at more than £3m
