That Table is wrong

Carlisle only got 29 points that season not 42 as is listed.

Orient only got 21 points. Relegated along with Manchester City.
And promoted with Liverpool the season before. Whatever happened to them?

But there is something wrong with the maths. Arsenal have never been out of that League whereas Liverpool have but the table says Arsenal have played one less game.

In an effort to find something positive about that table, I can say that our goal difference isn't too bad.

And Ling probably played a part in Swindon's dismal showing too....

They've taken the WDL records of all the teams and awarded them points as per the modern 3 points for a win era. That's why we have 27 points on that table rather than the 21 we actually got in 1961-62.

Arsenal have been in division 1 for last 100 years, but prior to moving to Highbury they did yo yo between the top two divisions. In those days they were Orient's bitches :-)
