Diorama making
Anyone middle aged (and geeky) enough to have given this a go?
Started making a snowy diorama for a Lego train to go on (steady on ladies, I’m taken!)
I’ve made some wire trees and don’t want to spend extortionate amounts on the flocking. Any tips on what to use for leaves?

Re: Diorama making
I seem to have inadvertently pioneered the ASIA variation on the EAGLE format, but unfortunately, this is a genuine question

Re: Diorama making
I would tell you but you’ll think I’m too cool…
OK. It’s like a display terrain for a model to go on.
I’m hoping to make some actual stop motion animations in the future, and so making a background for my Lego train seemed like a good experiment into how to make sets.
It’s quite fun, but a slow process cos of how much drying time everything needs

Re: Diorama making
For leaves on a tree, however if you want ground foliage DIY store sell fake grass but you would have to cut it down or a model shop that sells Hornby may help

Re: Diorama making
Leaves rot, but also, cut up leaves don’t look like foliage - foliage when looked at from afar looks a bit softer than that

Papier-mâché it’s always a favourite to make bales of hay and things like that. Hope that helps

When I was young I used to belong to a history club that re-enacts battles,I had and still have a napoleonic (British Wellington army) made out of lead also a confederate army also made out of lead worth a fortune I suspect to the right person. Would down load a pic but am useless on poxy computers
Re: Diorama making
This is where I’m currently at. The snow looks crap at the moment cos it’s literally poly filla for the general shape of the drifts, but I’ve got some sprinkly snow that I’m going to dust over the top on areas that I prepare with PVA
