Ruel & Hunt being offered new contracts
Sounds like Happe & others will also be offered new deals.

They're 'establishment' so can't be seen to associate with us reprobates.

Which is fair enough.

Can’t believe they are still going. Fair play

Think the other lot were in favour for a while but they've got back in after recent events.

Imagine this was partly because Richie wasn't allowed to do his usual official media after the match on Saturday, so the Club (and he) were keen to get him out there and bask in this moment. Which is fair enough.

Ruel, why?

Because RW loves him for some strange reason. Since he has been out of the team we are a completely different animal. Same thing happened last season. Makes no sense to me.

"A new contract didn't materialise ". ? Nigel and Kent , please make it materialise because having Richie is the best thing to happen to us since we had Justin .

Ruel is worth having around as a squad player. He’s a decent option to come on as a 10, left winger or centre forward albeit not spectacular at any. Can imagine he ain’t on a huge wage either.

Hunt looks done to me against better team. Again, decent pro to have around as a squad player but can’t imagine he’s cheap

This. We're not going to have 2 Dan Agyeis and 2 Jordan Grahams in the squad, sadly. We need cheaper squad players such as Ruel.

Hunt, on a £ for £, cost v benefit basis, is a more difficult decision to understand.

Orient winning or some sort of off field podcast-based drama?

Playing as he has been last few weeks in basically the Tehoué role i.e. sub on with 15 mins to go and be a nuisance running around a lot fair enough but you can see the difference it's made having others starting upfront.

Well we do upfront in terms of a senior pro on a high wage, problem is it's Pigott and he's further down the pecking order at present

Well yeah, obviously Agyei is a far, far better player down the middle and Theo is a far, far better player down the left.

Id keep Hunt. Is two footed and can cover both full back positions so whilst I don't think he is starting quality at this level, he's a perfect squad option and worth a year extension. We definitely need a new full back in the summer though.

Think we may need a new CB going by what he was saying, I would just like to know who starts these silly rumours like the Irish guy?

I don't get this hate-type criticism of Ruel.

Having bought poorly with Pigott and having Agyei, Drinnan and Sanders injured (& Monc's unfit), he's had to cover all sorts of bases in the first half of the season. At one stage he was the only ever-present. Of course he misses chances - thats why he plays in league one - but Drinnan don't even make chances or provide others with chances. Lester Pigott shows more effort than Joe does on some days. We could let Ruel go and I'm sure he will (a) be picked up by another club and (b) score goals for them. He will be valued in a way we don't seem to.

I'm content with keeping him at the club.

where was the hate for Ruel? I can only see an observation that tallies with my own: that Ruel at the moment is a third choice League One forward, good for cover and impact, but not someone a team at this level looking up rather than down should be in the starting XI across a whole season. He's still young and could improve though...

"hate-type" not hate. He's the latest villain at the club IMO - probably because of the opportunities he misses. I hear it around me in the TJS and I witness it on this board.

Don’t think he disliked mate I personally think he’s not suited to the roll of leading the line on his own. Again imo he would be better playing alongside another forward but I have doubts about his ability to control a ball and his physicality isn’t great. If you play the ball infront of him that suits his style but holding up the ball and laying off...nahhh not for me

He's not a great decision maker so be frustrating to watch, and he was being asked to fill in positions he can't play - he's not a right winger or a no.10. But get that he serves a function and if we decide to go two up front he's a really useful option.
