Hoping the covers and heaters do their job. It will be well above freezing by 3pm Saturday. Hopefully game on...?

It's probably going to be frozen tomorrow. Will 5C be enough to defrost it in time?

Pitch Inspection Friday
Let’s hope we will reap the rewards for the money invested in our new pitch this season
Could be only one of a few games on this Sat, and we can continue our good run and dispose of Bolton like we did Pompey

I thought the idea of this new hybrid pitch is it was more durable. I thought it was supposed to be able to take this type of weather. Saying that it’s disappointing to see the pitch in the South Stand goal look so worn out already

If every fan gets early with a hot water bottle we can warm the pitch up, add some hot air about potential transfers and game on

My gardens rock hard and my bird bath has over an inch of ice in it. Been like that since Tuesday.

Get me there early - after 8 pints of lager I’d soon melt some frost …..

Social media today had pictures of the players training on the pitch. Don't know if the pictures were taken today or yesterday though.

Walthamstow FC have had a ridiculous number of home games called off this season due to a waterlogged pitch. Last Tuesday it was off due to being frozen, this Saturday could still be frozen and next Tuesday it’ll probably be off due to being waterlogged again.
Brissy should be fine tomorrow.

It's better protection from damage and waterlogging than freezing, as far as I can tell.
The hybrid system just toughens up the grass surface. The plastic weave knits it all together so that, for example, a slidey tackle doesn't cut a furrow in the surface. The drainage is meant to be much better, I guess, so there should be less water in the top few inches to freeze, but there's still damp sand / soil in the structure and that can still freeze.

Reckon it’ll be alright by ko but it’s proper cold this morning. Gotta hope the sun being out and it being above 0 this afternoon helps

Not sure what a step 5 or whatever bog has to do with our six figure sum playing surface?
Presumably we'll have covers and heaters out on it today? It's absolutely in our best interest to get the game on before our ridiculous fixture schedule kicks off in a week or two.

You don't have an indoor heated pool like I do? How do people live like this?!

It’s not looking good as the sun is in the wrong position
It’s all to do with ground temperature -word is it’s going to be off due to tonight’s overnight temperature

They can put a man on the moon but they can’t defrost a football pitch, and they call it progress
