Re: NO SIGNINGS
I think we would be better off not signing a striker in this window and wait for the summer for a better deal. We have enough at the moment to stay up I think.

Re: NO SIGNINGS
I think it could be Kelman but I agree with you . I think we need a winger more than a striker

Re: NO SIGNINGS
We just won 3-0 at the League leaders. No reason to rest on our laurels but also no reason to throw the usual wobblers about it being another 24 hours without a new face.

Re: NO SIGNINGS
So what happens is we start the same team again on Saturday, and again the Saturday after that, and Theo picks up a strain through fatigue or Agyei has a little setback from overuse during his recovery phase.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 10:26 am We just won 3-0 at the League leaders. The current starting XI is good enough but can't keep working the same few players when they're in the red zone.

This must be how Dunnem feels when he gets a like from Daily Express Bot on one of his pro Tory C&Ps.

Re: NO SIGNINGS
We just had a two week break, we are not in the 'red zone'. I don't think signing a reserve center back or reserve winger in time for the game after that is going to be the difference between our squad falling apart or thriving.

Glad someone is able to discern between "let's not lose our sh*t right this second" and "we don't need to sign anyone, everything is fine ".

Re: NO SIGNINGS
I think Richie said we have seven games in February so we're about to undergo a heavy work load . Our squad needs strengthening wherever Richie feels it's needed .Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 11:00 am We just had a two week break, we are not in the 'red zone'. And he's said we are going to strength the squad this week. Until that doesn't happen, I don't know what the whinging would be about.

Re: NO SIGNINGS
I don't know about all this..should we sign more players or shouldn't we sign more players, etc?
What I do know is we should have beaten Pompey by 4or 5 clear goals. No excuses really.

Re: NO SIGNINGS
Shame someone isn't able to discern between losing one's sh*t and being slightly perturbed that Lingy appears to be dragging his feet yet again.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 11:10 am Glad someone is able to discern between "let's not lose our sh*t right this second" and "we don't need to sign anyone, everything is fine ".

Re: NO SIGNINGS
Saturday’s great performance may persuade Lingy and the board that the current strike force is good enough to sustain us until the summer. Agyei , Forde and Theo were excellent on Saturday but if one or two of them get injured then we are Fcuked and so we do need to bring one or two in, and includes a wide man.
Personally I think we do have enough to stay in this league, but while we have a chance of a play off spot I think we should give Richie everything he needs.

Re: NO SIGNINGS
If you have to compete with Derby bidding for a Sheffield W player on £17.5k PW and £5k PW for one from Wigan then there won't be any signings.

Re: NO SIGNINGS
We dont need a big signing...we put in a master class of a performance on Saturday (beating top of the league 3-0 if you didn't notice) and we have not conceded a goal in 4 games.
Richie has said a wide man should hopefully be coming in early this week. That doesn't mean a Monday!

Re: NO SIGNINGS
Not to mention Charlton. They have apparently paid West Ham £1m for Callum Coventry. For League 1 that's ridiculous...we have no chance on doing that but it pisses me off some supporters think the owners can throw money like this around.WilliamTell wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 1:04 pm If you have to compete with Derby bidding for a Sheffield W player on £17.5k PW and £5k PW for one from Wigan then there won't be any signings.

Re: NO SIGNINGS
The thing is there's a big difference in quality between starting Agyei and Forde than Pigott and Sotiriou. On the Theo front as RW said there is no backup for him at present.Cheshunto wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 11:57 am Saturday’s great performance may persuade Lingy and the board that the current strike force is good enough to sustain us until the summer. More surprising we haven't moved any out the other way yet as it's been repeated we need to move players out to get ones in.

Re: NO SIGNINGS
Yeah, if Lingy didn’t always “drag his feet” we’d clearly have done much better than just the 2 promotions in 5 years!! It’s obvious there’s something wrong here - livid!!!!Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 11:45 amShame someone isn't able to discern between losing one's sh*t and being slightly perturbed that Lingy appears to be dragging his feet yet again.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 11:10 am Glad someone is able to discern between "let's not lose our sh*t right this second" and "we don't need to sign anyone, everything is fine ".

Re: NO SIGNINGS
Lingy has got lucky by appointing 2 decent managers out of the what, 15 or so?, he’s got through in the last 6 years….BoniO wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 8:01 pmYeah, if Lingy didn’t always “drag his feet” we’d clearly have done much better than just the 2 promotions in 5 years!!
