I can’t remember a time on this board when users were allowed to freely throw the C word around at other members. I’m pretty sure this used to result in a perma ban, certainly for repeat offenders anyway.
Whilst disagreeing with people is natural, we should be able to do it without resorting to vulgarity aimed directly at others.
Quite disappointing to see but at the moment the offensive behaviour of some users is spoiling the enjoyment of the board for me and I suspect many others. What is especially sad is that much of this behaviour seems to be linked to conversations and topics which have nothing to do with Leyton Orient or even football.
You may enjoy going around abusing strangers on message boards - which in itself is properly pathetic behaviour - but some of us have higher standards for how we conduct ourselves.

Many thanks. Unfortunately when one boarder is allowed to use vulgar abuse others will be just as emboldened to use the same language and behaviour. It ruins the board for everyone. It’s why there should be a zero tolerance policy for it.

Problem is there are to many aliases on here, while a majority of the boarders are sensible there are a few that are not, and I’m practically sure its the work of one or maybe a couple of people. There quite cleaver and make it look like there different people and basically argue with themselves to draw you in,possibly youngsters or someone that can’t work ( for what ever reason?) they get off on it it’s not easy to police imo. Think people have to just ignore them, because your only feeding there sick mind. Got nothing against a good debate or a wind up but not ignorance or rudeness. There can’t be that many idiots out there???

I don't get why people get so hung up on swear words. They're just options from the great lexicon of english we can choose from. Really, why is calling someone a fanny any worse than a moron, imbecile, cretin, scum, etc?

If it wasn't any worse than other words, then it wouldn't be a swear word. Are you trying to say swear words shouldn't exist?

Remember when we had those numpties in charge who issued bans for calling thick people thick? Can we do that again.

Teachers and other professionals cannot call children words you use so why should these be tolerated here?

You only do that from behind the safety of your keyboard though.

They are but there is obviously a hierarchy.
The worst 3 IMO are:
1) Racialist swearwords - Ns/Ps etc
2) The c bomb
3) Benny

If you understood what the other words meant they're far worse than a swear word who's aim is to shock and offend but has a lesser meaning

I've never really considered racist terms swear words. Definitely the most offensive though. The c bomb really depends on the context as it really doesn't have a defined meaning outside of its literal form.
Are you a Benny tied to a tree? No? Benny on the loose!

The board seems especially toxic today. Think I’m going to give it a rest for the afternoon until things settle down.
