How Important to you is a cup of tea?
As important as it was to this chap?

A quite shocking story that displays an horrific attitude towards the use of violence and misogyny

Not to be facetious or anything, but the framing of the story itself is ridiculous. He didn’t kill her “over a cup of tea”; he killed her because he’s a violent, dangerous psychopath who would have always found a trigger for such impulses.
Even inadvertently, the idea that he killed her over a cup of tea reinforces the incorrect idea that compliance would have kept her from harm

and we are off putting spin on a sad story.
Not good enough to condemn the violence and misogyny - people have to try to make points about the story and try to put their own spin on it

Hang on, are you having a pop at someone else "putting a spin on this sad story" after your post made it all jovially about "bet no-one loves a cuppa as much as this guy! ". Amazing.

I think the service in refreshments bar in the
West Stand is so slow I gave up bothering buying from there as the queue was static. It was annoying as when you fancy a tea , coffee or Bovril and cannot get one it can be a disappointment. Worse when the water is just tepid. There are triggers that that send people over the edge with some well known cases publicised in the papers in recen years. Sometimes people disproportionately react to minor situations , like suddenly calling people they do not know dreadful things using foul language that they would not ordinarily use in front of their friends and family , even the ‘c’ word repeatedly. Would it not be better if they were so offended, to ask the person to reconsider rephrasing what has caused their quite unjustified and aggressive and heightened response?

I think she worked at the refreshments bar in the
West Stand at some point before I gave up bothering buying from there as the queue was static.

Nice of you to make up things I have not saidProposition Joe wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 1:45 pm Hang on, are you having a pop at someone else "putting a spin on this sad story" after your post made it all jovially about "bet no-one loves a cuppa as much as this guy! ". Amazing.
I make no such comment, nor did I make any jovial comments. I condemned the matter saying
That is not being jovial at allquite shocking story that displays an horrific attitude towards the use of violence and misogyny

Happy to take a perma ban from Caca if that’s what he decides. Apparently the joke is fine, calling it out isn’t.
Maybe he should try spending some time with victims of domestic abuse.

I have amended my post as you seem very upset.
There was no intention to cause you any offence. You should have just asked. There was no need for the foul language. I get your point and I have amended the post.

Re: How Important to you is a cup of tea?
You know everyone can still read the subject heading, right? Like, it's there in black and white.
Re: How Important to you is a cup of tea?
Thank you - I appreciate the response. I have direct experience of domestic abuse, through work mostly and in some situations I’d rather not go into. If you make light of it, im going to call it out strongly, and to me, calling it c***ish is far more important to me than my continued presence on this board.
I believe the “foul language” was warranted, but I appreciate you amending the post.
I guess it’s still for admin to decide whether
“We are all adults, when offensive stuff is said, I think we can handle an asterisked c word” is the position,
or whether the position is “we’re gonna keep on top of offensive posts to prevent anyone feeling they need to call anyone a c***”
Or if it’s “the offensive stuff about Palestinians and dead women is a-OK. Swearing at the people who did it, however, is not”

Why do you struggle to 'call out' people without being abusive? Its childish.

Yes, The heading does not say anything like you lied aboutProposition Joe wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 3:06 pmYou know everyone can still read the subject heading, right? Like, it's there in black and white.
It is not jovial at all, it is highlighting the horrific nature of the slaughter 0- namely someone gets so angry about a cup of tea they slaughter someone.
Nothing jovial at all. It was a post highlighting and condemning a particularly horrid crime
Perhaps if you didn't put your own spin on something and then try to blame me there would not be a problem.
Alternatively, perhaps you could just admit it is a fair point and that I made a post condemning a particularly horrific misogynistic crime

Sometimes - as when you attempted to weasel out of saying you had no sympathy for dead Palestinians, calling someone a c*** is the most appropriate thing.
I consider publicly advertising that you lack human decency to be more childish than calling you a c*** for it.
And I’m highlighting it because I don’t believe Admin should let your comments about Palestinians slide without saying something that demonstrates that when you do so, you do not get to be arbiter of whether the pushback is warranted or not.

Yeah, with a subject heading that makes it about liking a cuppa
Try not just automatically doubling down on everything, even in the face of all reasonable evidence. You might find it liberating.

I don’t blame you, so do I these days purely as the contents are hotter than the refreshment kiosk offerings.LeighO wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 5:24 pmDon’t tell Nigel, but I bring a flask of coffee from home.Daily Express bot wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 2:00 pmspen666 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 1:22 pm As important as it was to this chap?
