He is reported to be backin training after a heart operation in August. He was a favourite of RW when he played for Swindon and was on the radar before his operation.

Be a ridiculous gamble now surely?Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 10:32 am Think its well known we were going to bring him in before his health issues. Not sure personally.
This . Anyway I hope we have already identified the two players we want . We need them to be fit and ready to go .Chicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:02 am After Tom Lockyer"s heart problems, l think this is a complete non-starter.
Harsh but probably fair. Must be a very uncertain and worrying time for him, having gone through his op and recovery and then literally at that moment seeing a colleague who had seemingly come out the other side of a very similar scenario have a heart attack just a few months after his return to first team football.Chicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:02 am After Tom Lockyer"s heart problems, l think this is a complete non-starter.
And Lockyer got treated by Eriksen's surgeon. At the time the surgeon said Lockyer's was a lesser case. I think his risks must have escalated significantly since then.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:33 am In Tom Lockyer's case that's now twice he's collapsed on a football pitch in the space of seven months . If I was in his shoes I'd hang up my boots . It's not worth the risk.
Absolutely, we need players that are league1 capable and have played regular first team football and are ready from day 1.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:05 amThis . Well I don't think he will have any choice. Doctors orders. I will be very surprised if he plays again.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:33 am In Tom Lockyer's case that's now twice he's collapsed on a football pitch in the space of seven months . Nobody is saying McKirdy isn’t a good player but I would be worried about his health risks if we signed himFisch wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 1:23 pm McKirdy's problem was directly heart related in that a coronary artery was "kinked" and needed a bit of surgery to open it up fully to supply his heart muscles. I think it is well worth the risk but l don't know if the insurance assessors would go for it.
I saw two full games with McKirdy playing and he is the real deal. Maybe the only option we can afford.
Wouldn’t mind betting that he would play more games than ThompsonRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 2:09 pmNobody is saying McKirdy isn’t a good player but I would be worried about his health risks if we signed himFisch wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 1:23 pm McKirdy's problem was directly heart related in that a coronary artery was "kinked" and needed a bit of surgery to open it up fully to supply his heart muscles.
