This could be interesting
Sometimes dubbed "El Loco" (the madman) by his critics, Mr Milei has promised drastic changes, which include ditching the local currency, the peso, for the US dollar and "blowing up" the central bank in order to prevent it from printing more money, which he argues is driving inflation.
He has also proposed cutting welfare payments and slashing bureaucracy by closing the ministries of culture, women, health and education, among others.
In a round of media interviews following his election win, he said he would privatise Argentina's state energy company, YPF, and the country's public broadcasters.
"Everything than can be [put] into the hands of the private sector, will be in the hands of the private sector," he said. However, Mr Milei added that before YPF could be privatised, it would have to "rebuilt". He did not say how long that process could take.
The president-elect also announced that public works would be "cut down to zero" and those already in progress would be put out to tender so that "there would be no more state spending".
On social issues, he wants to loosen gun laws, abolish abortion - which was legalised in Argentina in 2020 - and allow the sale and purchase of human organs.

It will be interesting to see if he actually delivers on any of his nutjob policies, or if does a Meloni and let's down his supporters. At least the UK is relatively insulated to whatever happens down there (so long as he doesn't do something stupid to distract the population from his incompetence, such as mount an invasion of the Falkland Islands).

His haircut (if that's what it is) really is something. Feels like if Joe Pasquale went fash and then ended up PM.

Parts of Argentina was considered for a Jewish State as well as Uganda before Palestine so no reason why it could not be negotiated as a refuge for those seeking to escape their home for whatever reason.
Lenny btw

No , I meant that Argentina together with Uganda were considered as possible alternatives to Palestine to as a homeland for the Jewish people. Argentina

Well, you could threaten refugees with being sent there I suppose. They'd then be demanding to go to Rwanda. Especially if they had kids.

Argentina was considered together with Uganda? Like when two teams host the World Cup? Aren't they a bit far apart?

Both countries would have benefited a great deal had they become the homeland although Argentina and Uganda with nuclear power would have been a worry.
I don’t like these joint host World cups, debased the competition I feel.

Uganda & Argentina had very different routes to Judaism.
Uganda was offered by the British Empire
Whilst Argentina was after Spains "expulsion of Jews".
Neither would have worked particularly well
As a Homeland.

Yeah, and Argentina already had another certain group of Europeans setting up camp, who may not have got on too well with the Jews.

You should be happy if you are a fan of Benny Hill and Harry Enfield as the Javier Miles the new President looks a cross between the two . He also used to teach Tantric Sex, whatever that is?
