It is about f*cking time.
FFS, I'll have to get a new console now.

Presuming it has a nice long single player story I'm in.
If it's just another vehicle for flogging skins to kids while they shout abuse and play hip hop at each other I'll give it a swerve.

Depending on how much of a gamer you are, there’s probably only now enough decent PS5 games to warrant getting a new one. Got mine last Christmas, and aside from the PSVR2 fluff that I’ve played about with, these are the games I’ve played properly
Ratchet and Clank (utterly superb)
Spider-Man; Miles Morales (brilliant)
Jedi Survivor: (if you like Star Wars you’ll love it, if not it’s fun but inessential)
Spider-Man 2 (brilliant so far)
Hogwarts (haven’t properly got stuck into it yet)

From what I can glean, the story is a modern day Bonnie & Clyde set in an updated Vice City but with other international locations too.

Dreading to think what GTA with a red dead redemption 2 scale and narrative, played on a new generation console, will mean for my spare time.

Yeah, though I’m a little concerned that despite being on the new gen of consoles, the shittification of things may well impact on GTA. As LNF says, Rockstar have basically milked the last one for all it’s worth and have essentially evolved into a company selling in-game currency to fools. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the next game has a half arsed story and a setting that’s got loads of potential but is ultimately wasted because of only being used by the type of person LNF mentioned

I still have faith in Rockstar, but there's not a week that goes by without some awful practice being implemented in the gaming industry.
I think we'll get more of the same considering past titles success. Not expecting anything radical. Outside chance of some sort of VR, Rockstar have a habit of experimenting with features in games and they did a LA Noire VR release, although strictly its not their game.

Haven't played it since the first one came out in the late 90's. Even then it had great gameplay, despite being just a top down game. How do you find time with work, family and life to play games?

I find that not having work or a life, and family consisting only of a partner who also likes video games helps

I don't even have the partner, so I should be prime candidate for GTA6. While I can appreciate the games, the only ones I've ever really liked were 3 because it was revolutionary at the time, and 5 because it's the only one I was able to complete.

Can't believe it's finally official, though watching the trailer earlier it's heading towards that point where the graphics start looking a little too realistic for comfort.
