On reflection...

Following last Tuesday's win, the team is now guaranteed a play-off place at the very least. I wonder, how many of us would have taken that at the start of the season?

My predictions was top 10, play off at best. So yup, I would have taken that from the start. But given how well JE and the team have done I’ll be disappointed if we don’t go up as Champions. We’ve had chances to create a gap, yet blown it.

Still. Two points clear, four games to go. Up to us. Ours to lose so got to be OK with that

I think a play off place was the absolute minimum most people expected including the management, it is in our hands now. Salford's run in is not easy by any means.

Very interesting.
Following this 'line of enquiry' a little further, does anybody recall anything specific about the '5 year plan''? I don't recall T or T setting definite targets. Promotion to such-and-such within any time-frames etc. They may have given specifics but I don't remember them if they did. Any ideas? Ta.

When we sat down as a board we developed both a 5 and 10 year plan.

We basically created every single plan that every single know it all numpties on Internet forums would believe is in place.

I can't disclose much but in every single plan we drafted up there was a specific point around never signing a central midfielder in mid-season. Martin and Justin have argued this clause admirably over the season, especially when we've been really lacking in that department but we're not going to break it.

It's not down to money or players available. We're just doing it to throw in an extra challenge for the management.

Salfords run in is by far the easiest of all the sides who could win the title.

At the beginning of the season I was hoping we would at least make the play offs. Considering the position we're in now and with only four games to go I'd be extremely disappointed if we didn't make top spot.

Same for me. Except it was a lot more hope, than expectation. I had us down as top 10 mounting a play off push. If we do end up in the play offs and fail to go up, it's a good season from what I expected - but given the position we were in at the mid way point and also a couple of weeks ago, not going up would be a massive disappointment.

Did expect to be in play off at least, but did fear Salford would blow everyone away which hasn't quite happened.
Don't really care how the Os get up as long as they do. Even if it ends up been via the play off. Mainly to ensure the academy continues as is.

Didn't expect much this season after last seasons efforts.
Absolutely loving the position we are in, makes for an exciting end to the season whether we make it or not.

I said we would be playing League Football in 2019-20.

I’m pretty sure 'promotion every 3 - 5 years' was mentioned more than once.

On reflection, Wembley's wide pitch would suit our style of play. Lots of space for the likes of jk, Brophy and Dayts to run into. Not to mention JMD. Bring it on!

Hope against expectation, my former was 5th, the latter 10th. The reality has outstripped both so l can't complain. Trouble is, both have risen during this season so anything below top will have some disappointment attached to it. Humans eh!

I said on the other board prior to the season starting we would win and I’ve seen nothing to suggest it’s not going to happen. This past 10 days or so reaffirms my belief we are going to do it.

I love this club and I can’t wait to finally see the words

Leyton Orient Champions.

Thor,

your 'signature' is very impressive.
My own claim to circumstantial fame is that at precisely 3pm on April the 8th, 1978, the Orient v Arsenal FA Cup semi-final commenced: At that very moment I was getting married. Needless to say, I wasn't at the match.
