We need to buy better

In order to be a top team in this league we need to buy better. So many of our signings havent been good enough. The January 22 signings for example were terrible, only Jordan Brown has survived out of the six signed.
Moncur has turned out awful signing. He's one of the highest wage earners, but a liability now.
In order to get a goalscorer in, that will push us up the league, we have to either, spend ½ million pounds, or take a chance on a young 19/20 yr old), from non league, who's scoring for fun, and hope at their young age they can scale up to league 1 level.
No way will we get a good striker for 100 grand...those days dont exist anymore
As an aside, Id like to bring Smyth back on loan in January

QPR are sh*t but Smyth is a first team player at a bigger club in the division above, in what circumstances would he come back to us for a second loan spell?

You are deluded if you think we can afford a half million pound striker, we have as been mentioned by T&T spent our budget. If we can move one or two on we might have a chance of a signing or Two in January but otherwise Kelman on loan is realistically it.
Can’t see Smyth coming back on loan with Ageyi earmarked for that position on his return in the new year.

Not always about money - surely has also got to be the case that players didn't want to come to Orient - money yes, but also accomodation, family ties, didn't warm to the set up etc. Notice Smythe wasn't on the bench last Saturday, for a side that's down the bottom of the table. If he's not injured, what's going on?

Smyth was dropped on Saturday. If the new manager that comes in doesn't fancy him, he'll jump at a loan

So based on one game, the big IF of who the next manager is and an apparent deep insight into his wants and needs. That's me convinced.

The real " problem " at Orient, is the lack of a player to zap the ball in the net. We are holding our own at this level. Most teams have been quite cautious of us. We are in a solid mid table position. We probably would look pretty silly in the Championship if we were promoted this Season. Smyth was hardly a prolific forward last Season. I think some fans on here need a reality check.

He was on the bench and came on in the 87 minute!

Recruitment is so bad we won the league last year and have made a very solid start to life in a new division despite a massive turnover in players.

Tbf we haven't won in a couple of weeks so only natural that the same old moaners start regurgitating the same old nonsense.

We needed to sort out an appalling midfield when RW arrived to be competitive in L2. Moncur played a part in that so job done to some extent. Would we expect more from him, yes, was he a disaster signing, absolutely not.
Upfront is where the management needs to be ruthless is upfront and quality there doesn't come cheap. Will mean moving on a few of the current squad to free up space.
One area that's a free hit is pre-season. Seemed poorly organised this summer leading to us playing against the wrong opposition on poor quality pitches. The season before same story with playing friendlies on 4G which caused injuries.

The “Ling out” crowd pushing their usual moans and ignoring the three promotions or perfectly acceptable current position to further their tiresome message

Our budget in the Championship would increase by £4.5 million. Making our total budget £8 million. Increased gate money would take it higher.

how about listing the decent signings ie Galbraith, Jordan Graham, sOL B, Brandon Coooper. Hopefully sanders, Dan A too. Not win in a couple and the usual moaners come out

I'm quite happy with our defence and midfield, but the forward line isn't firing and doesn't look a threat -we are goal shy - and we've just lost our most creative player for the rest of the season. Moncur is an absolute passenger. Can't see us finishing higher than where we are unless we have a good transfer window and Dan Agyei hits the ground running when he's fit.

I completely agree and my thoughts exactly . To be honest though I'd be happy with a 12th place finish . All I'm looking for this season is League 1 stability . Anything better would be a bonus .

Coyos has consistently moaned about owner ambition, Ling, signings and the quality of certain players for years on end - and in that time we’ve steadily and excellently improved our league position including 2 promotions. I think he would quite openly say that he wouldn’t be satisfied with LOFC as a club until we’re holding our own in the championship, so we can look forward to many more years of consistent grumbling.

That just wouldnt be good enough, if it wasnt for Ling we could be in the Champions League

You know how there’s that weird concept of describing people as “NPCs”, to refer to the idea of people who just populate the world as window dressing, people who are not active participants in their own destiny?
I’m sure that a lot of moaning football fans have a version of that, but about football clubs, where every other club is running on rails, performing at exactly the expected level and never seeking to improve their lot or dropping below a standard, making it inconceivable that Orient, the only club consciously run by people who should want to improve their circumstances, don’t just go right ahead and do all the right things to guarantee success

What really boils my piss with blokes like you is, the arrogance that you have, thinking no one is allowed to have a different opinion to yours, because yours is always right..
Your intolerance with other people's views, says more about you that you could imagine.

As beautifully demonstrated above, Coyos is also incapable of sustaining any kind of debate. They just hone in on the most emotive reply and vent their righteous anger. All textbook stuff.
