Do these chairman use some kind of app to write their statements? They're all the same...
I'm rich, how dare you question me. I'm your saviour, without me you'd be nothing. As people aren't playing nicely, I'm going home with my ball. I'm innocent of everything (except those things you found out about, natch).

Jesus Christ. Feel for Scunny, they finally get rid of the loathed Swann and end up with this circus. There might be some valid points in what he says but they're close to being lost in an absolute soap opera of a post.

Some of that statement sounds very close to home after recent podcast appearences

I still can't forgive them for Wembley in May 1999.
Maybe Lord Ian Botham should put in a bid, he played for them a few times and he's got a few friends to form a consortium with. There could even be a Netflix programme in it

There will be over 8,000 fans attending Saturday’s National League North title clash between Scunthorpe and Chester tomorrow.
They broke my heart in 1999, but I hope for their fans that they are on their way back to the EFL.

Got to win another league or the play offs before then.
Could be a couple of years yet

I had forgotten about Chester. A regular opponent in the 80’s. If my memory serves me right Stuart Rimmer used to score about 40 goals every season. What a shame both clubs are now where they are.

I think Chester got relegated the season we beat them 5-1 and Carl Griffiths scored a hat-trick at The Deva Stadium. King Carl blew them away!

I remember Bazza being interviewed on radio after the match and being asked if the play-offs were possible and him replying with words to the effect "anything is possible after tonight". We'd didn't get in the play-offs.

Scunthorpe beat Chester 3-1 yesterday in front of 8,274 fans - wow, sixth tier of English football too.

Just shows you fans love a winning team. Where were they a few years ago?
Torquay Utd in National League South regularly pulling in 5,000 or so per match.
It does also show the depth of English football, even if the fans are a bit fickle!

It’s that or the seafront. Football is safer.

That was a proper 6 pointer. I have a feeling we were second from bottom and they were bottom - and the game was between xmas and the new year. We happen to be down at the bottom because I'd stuck a bet on us to get promoted at the start of the season (something I never did again for over 20 years) !
