Brynn. 7.5 No chance with the goal as James left him in no man’s land. Has a real presence generally.
James 6.5. Some decent corners and throw ins mixed in with some sloppy passes and an error for their goal.
Cooper. 8. Joint MOM. Had a cracking game nearly scored as well. Not bad for his first league game
Beccles. 7.5. Had the collywobbles lately. Not today. Won all his headers and should have scored from a corner.
Archibald. 6.5. Doesn’t seem as comfortable playing wing back and struggled to get going.
Graham 7.5 Gorgeous cross for Piggotts goal. Worked hard.
Pratley. 7.5. We have missed having Darren in the engine room.
El Miz. 7. Never stopped running and some long bursting dribbles through the middle of the park.
Ruel. 8. Gets an extra 2 marks for the goal. I was thinking with a few minutes to go how he must be protected on high by the prince of darkness to still be on the pitch and then he does that.
Moncor. 6. Looked knackered when he was taking off. A few glimpses but not enough.
Piggott. 8. Joint MOM. Great goal and worked his socks off.
Subs. 6
Wellens. 9. Gets a 9 for keeping Ruel on the pitch for 90 mins despite him being completely anonymous. RW loves him and why not when he does that. We matched up formations and they couldn’t cope.
Exeter. 5. Missing some key players but we’re pretty poor.
Ref. 8. Very good.

Agree except thought Moncs put a shift in particularly the first half

Yep all good.
I thought Moncur had a decent game and certainly tried. Even won some tackles.

According to some of our 'fans' Wellens picked the wrong team today. Just goes to show that playing FIFA isn't the same as being a REAL manager of a REAL team.
F***ing idiots!!

That was George’s best 45 in a long time. He had a very decent half. Tired badly at the hour mark but he can be pleased with his performance.
Copper was everywhere. Very impressive.

Cooper looked excellent today, shame he wasn’t playing last week against Stevenage

Was a real team effort today. No one had a poor game.
El Miz is a stunningly good player, Cooper was fantastic, young Turns might not get his place back now, Pigott had his best game for us, Graham is classy, and Ruel showed what he is capable of in added on time

Funny you mention that was reading the comments on X after the lineup was posted and thinking "hmmm this will either end up a tactical masterstroke from RW or it'll be unpleasant on the socials tonight"
Richie wins

Thought he was poor first 15 minutes, back to his best the remainder of the game.

Sotiriou has always been the sort of player capable of pulling something out of the fire. I'm glad we've got him in our squad. Get in there Ruel my son !!

Have to feel a bit sorry for Exeter's (only just) 16 year old midfielder. He was sharing the same general patch of turf as Darren Pratley. Baptism of fire or wot!

Absolutely no sympathy for the Grecians
having a depleted squad you can only
beats what put infront of you …
Remember going a few years ago in the
Becchiti era and getting hammered 5-0
with a depleted squad as the first teamers
hadn’t been paid ..
And was constantly reminded on the way
out the ground that we’d been worse side
seen at St James’s Park by the home fans ..
They didn’t seem to bothered when I reminded
them that they’d beaten a bunch of 16
years old ..
What goes around comes around ..

Such a different game to the one against Stevenage te previous weekend. Exeter wern't in your face, and wern't physical, and we played well and deservedly won.
We dont do well against big physical sides, and i suppose we never will. Thank goodness there isnt many that play the Stevenage way

It was indeed a baptism of fire for the young 16 year old Exeter player .Saying that though nobody has showed us any sympathy while we've been struggling with our injury problems . We've been put to the sword .
