A joke about an unfaithful zookeeper has been named the funniest gag at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Comedian Lorna Rose Treen was voted the winner with her pun: "I started dating a zookeeper, but it turned out he was a cheetah."
This evidence suggests not.
I do like Katherine Ryan, Aisling Bea, possibly a few others. What do you think?

Hard to be objective about Aisling Bea because apart from the Jameson adverts, she's perfect in every way.
Tbf, the "best" Edinburgh joke is usually always a meh one liner so not that reflective of the state of women's comedy as a whole.

Tend to watch anything with Sharon Horgan or Daisy May Cooper in.
Struggling to remember the name of a young woman I saw at a festival who was really quite offensive.

It doesn’t even work as a joke as one is human the other an animal. She would have been been better off saying something like ‘ He invited me around for dinner, started chucking raw chicken drumsticks towards me’
Actually, has anyone got a punchline for the gag?

Disappointed that nobody has put forward Miranda Hart to counter the OP's assertion.

Obviously it will take some time to fill the void caused by the sad passing of Lily Savage and Dame Edna this year.

The ‘best jokes’ at Edinburgh are usually crap so it seems mad to conflate this fact into stating that no women can be funny

Womens comedy has never been the same since Josephine Grace Brand stopped being the Sea Monster and resorted to being a one off presenter on the One Show and other similar atrocities.

Again, what are you trying to prove here? We all know that Caca can be a c*** (fool) at times. Are you suggesting that the fact that he sometimes asks stupid/provocative questions means that it’s not possible that by accident or design he mught sometimes have a good question?
