Reportedly set for a move to China for £1 million pounds per week.
Do you consider this obscene with two weeks of his wages exceeding what many of us will earn for a lifetimes work.
Or do you think fair enough. With free market forces anyone or anything is worth whatever the buyer is prepared to pay.

Fair enough and good luck to him.

The Chinese team are taking the pi-- with this sort of offer. Good luck to Bale if he turns it down.

If there is a club out there that is stupid enough to pay him £1 million a week for kicking a ball around then good luck to him.

As long as he doesn’t go for a training swim with Sun Yang, he should be okay.

He will either go out there for 6 months and then say he can't settle, he will get a transfer back to the premiership on a reduced package or just ride it out and pick up his wages for the next two years in Spain.
They were talking about him an the radio today saying he has made little effort to integrate himself at Real and barely speaks a word of Spanish not liked by many of the players or staff

Perhaps he was waiting to learn Mandarin instead.

It's bad enough for a Welshman having to speak English. Don't think that it is all that easy to get a Welsh-Spanish Dictionary. Nos da!

In fairness to Bale, Real have only now decided this is an issue after he's won 13 trophies including 4 Champions Leagues with them.

Moved been called off by the club. You could argue that injuries at the club have forced this, but could it be that ZZ's star is not shining so brightly after a few pre-season games? Anyhow, the golfer stays.

Apparently Rail want a fee for him as well.

Pretty sure the failing to integrate stuff has been shot down. Can't remember who it was, but one of his teammates said his Spanish is fine its just he's very shy and doesn't like doing interviews in Spanish because he doesn't want to be misunderstood or misquoted. Real isn't the sort of club where players are slow to turn on newcomers who don't adapt. I've got to think that we'd have heard a lot more about it if Bale had been a problem.

Actually the reason is that all the Real players have been having Welsh lessons. Shouting out instructions in the ancient & noble language will truly confound the other Spanish clubs.

Because of the size of his wages at RM, they were happy to get only £18m fee. Perhaps someone sat down and did the numbers...

What is Spanish for ‘The Gaffer’?
Surely that is all he needs to know.

I'm surprised to hear that his failing to integrate has been "shot down". I was proud to have Gareth Bale playing in Spain. The injuries aren't his fault, but failing to learn the language well enough to be confident in interviews certainly is. Luka Modrić has been with Real Madrid in the same period and is regularly interviewed on Spanish television. Bale hasn't made an attempt to integrate, and that's why many fans stopped giving him the benefit of the doubt.
