Las year. What is happening to this country? Are the government only interested in keeping shareholders happy?

Cue people saying it’s poor parenting etc. Yet there must be more to it, surely?

11,000/70,000,000 is practically nothing.
Nothing to see here, the country is fine.

On the other extreme, wonder what the figures are for people who are classed as obese ( or near to it ) in the UK ?

It certainly looks like it . On two previous occasions I've done some shopping for a food bank and hope to do so again in the future but I'm a bit skint at the moment . IMO, the two biggest scandals in this country is people relying on food banks and homelessness . We're supposed to be one of the richest counties in the world so WTF is going on . The government has to pull its bloody finger out .Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 2:06 pm Las year. What is happening to this country? So we are always told but I dont believe a word of it ! The UK government debt is many billions of pounds in debt and ever increasingly so, virtually impossible to balance the books regardless of which party is in power. Blame can be attributed to so many things.

We have had a government over the last 13 years, that is only interested in enriching themselves, and their already rich pals, and have been robbing the poor in order to do that.
They have taken funding from all public services, and given the millions saved, again to themselves and their rich pals.
Weve also had years of austerity
Now with this intense inflation, people cannot afford to buy decent food, hence malnutrition
But at least we got our sovereignty back.....innit!!!!!!

Disagree, mega amount of money is spent on all public services and ever increasingly so. The services offered by the NHS has expanded massively from when it was first started in 1948 as has many so many other things funded by government spending, welfare, housing benefit etc, the list is endless.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 2:36 pm We have had a government over the last 13 years, that is only interested in enriching themselves, and their already rich pals, and have been robbing the poor in order to do that.

Good point Sydney. Does the millions of fatties mean the government should be praised as opposed to the minute amount of skinnies meaning the government is letting us down.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 2:26 pm On the other extreme, wonder what the figures are for people who are classed as obese ( or near to it ) in the UK ?

Personally think that's part of it. There's enough resources out there now to educate yourself. The amount of poo poo I see parents with kids the same age as mine pouring crap into their child.Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 2:18 pm Cue people saying it’s poor parenting etc. Yet there must be more to it, surely?
Mostly though it's that cheap food that isn't nutritious is cheaper, in most cases, than healthy food. One of my biggest stresses in this whole cost of living thing is that I'm having to make choices, due to budget, on food that means i'm giving my child worse quality food. It's ultimately that or paying the bills for a lot of people.
