Our average attendance this eason. Take a bow, all attendees....

Previous season was 5,116 meaning over 62,000 more visitors to the ground and at £20 a pop thats £1.25m of income.

Nigel said the over night we'd had 12k visitors (must be registered visitors) last season. Part of the aim was to engage with these marginals on a more regular basis.

We do seem to have a lot of marginals amongst our fan base.

24,000 at Wembley for that Diddy Cup Final we lost at Wembley. Build it and they will come if they can be arsed.

Building this club up, is impossible with a ground that wont allow more than 9000 odd supporters in it.
We HAVE to move, or stagnate, its as simple as that

Think our lowest attendance was 6300 ish which is pretty mad. I’m sure we never regularly got that even in the fantastic 13/14 season.

Leyton itself is becoming a more desirable area to live; the Os add to this.

They represent tickets sold. Actually the number might be a little higher if you count re-sells. The ground capacity is a major blocker to success...

We can probably get to 10k with an East Side refurb and to 12k with a new stand but that's it. After that it's a new ground or sharing..

Surprised it took so long for someone to point it out. Mr Devlin was once drawn on the reality of the numbers of people who showed up - a number they do track - and on that occasion it was IIRC more than a thousand under the number said to have "attended".

Crowds have been good this season, no doubt - and the Club should be commended for that. Just not as good as the official stats suggest.

7844 would put us in 14th place for League 1 attendances. There is a closer correlation between attendances and league position in League 1 than in league 2.

Hopefully the east stand can be modified so that some of the existing away section can be given over to home fans when the away crowd isn't expected to be too big, otherwise hard to see how we can increase attendances too much

It does, I believe. These were the total average attendances for us this season (source footballwebpages.co.uk).

For away games we had an average of 6,309 in attendance and we finished top of the table. Must be in part due to our away support but also the attraction of watching the top team play (for home supporters).

In terms of revenue who cares the seats are paid for. Because of demand (and amosphere too) we'd all liek to see those bums on seats. presuming a solid season, I hope/expect far more use of the ticket exchange - but based on only getting a fiver for it I might be getting a bit optimistic!

the seats are paid for, but those punters will not be buying food, drink, programmes etc. Nor are they included in the historical numbers, just in case any crafty/unwitting comparisons are made between how well we're doing this season and how well we did pre-COVID

Attendances are up across the board in lower league football. Add that to the fact that we've changed how we calculate them, and have had a really good season on the pitch... and maybe the effect of our improved "fan experience" is not really that significant yet.

Ahh. Nigel quoted visitor numbers like they were ticket applications throughout the season. Probably linked to the number of accounts formed in the past year. He spoke about re-engaging them to get as many into the regular fanbase as possible.

As a ST holder I can see attempts to improve the fan experience - but TBH the best part of any stadium visit is not the freshness of the burger or auality of the pregram or whether there are 300 absentees in the north stand. Its always going to be heavily factored by what happens on the pitch. i think thats the same for all of us historical regulars. For the casuals its a bit more than that. A couple can spend £40 seeing us or about the same at the cinema/bowling/crazy golf. We are competing with these events for consumers casual money.

Spoke with a season ticket pal elsewhere. Cambridge have an issue attracting families in the way we do with our north stand. That lovely away end could well be changing to an equivalent of the north stand to get the families coming to their ground - because most other parts of the ground are notvery appealing to families.

Someone mentioned earlier about the East stand, looking at it from out in the street it still looks like it did in the 1960's. Tear it down and build a two storey pitch length stand. That will increase capacity and revenue.

My daughter has brought in c 30 different colleagues/friends through the turnstiles this season .The appeal is the footy/the stadium and the Leyton pubs after. ie The Leyton Experience. They won’t be going anywhere else!

When I first supported the O's the East Stand only ran about 2/3 of the length of the pitch. The final 1/3 was added for the 1st Div season in 62/3. It's always been a debate about whether the huge amount should've been spent on new players instead of relying on the team that got us up. In the end it was like watching Forest Green this season.
We're more than likely to see far more visiting supporters next season. Clubs like Portsmouth or Charlton could fill the East Stand.
Any body any idea how many people stream the Orient matches, and how much revenue comes from the streamings?

My understanding is that they can’t make a tiered stand (even if we could afford it) without buying and knocking down all the houses on the street. It would cut out all their light and we wouldn’t get planning permission otherwise.

Only if were doing well and the good times are rolling .If not it will be back to the 5000 . Whenever I'm in Leyton it seems to me like that part of the population don't give a crap for Orient .
