Bet Fred machines would not pay me out for my Orient bet!!
Shop staff wouldn’t help me and they told me I had to call customer services as they are nothing to do with the shop.
Once I got through, jobsworth reading from a script, said the bet would not be settled until 6th May after last game of the season!
I argued my case and demanded to speak to the manager, which I did, he said the league had not finished, so I said, ok I’ll have £100 on Leyton Orient to win L2 please can you give me odds, to which he said, sorry not possible, betting is suspended on Leyton Orient to win L2.
So I said why is it suspended, and he replied, as they have won the league.
Seriously you couldn’t make it up.
I said so why can’t you pay me out & he said, honestly, I don’t know mate
In the end he said he will do me a favour, a bloody favour, and just this once pay me out early, WTF!
Bookies are so quick to take your money, but tossers when they have to pay you out.
Anyway I collected my winnings and am now £250 better off, well £230, as I had a cheeky £20 on Man City to beat Arsenal 3-1 @ 10/1
Yep I know, so close, £200 ripped out my hand by a last min, long flowing hair, Haaland goal with last kick of the game.
All in all a good day collecting winnings, frustrating how long it took, and unlucky with my 3-1 Man City bet.
Lesson learned, stick to betting on Leyton Orient, we always win
In RW & Leyton Orient we trust

Judging by the fact 20 quid is already back in their hands, it won't be long before the bookies get it all back.

Strange. We win the league a short while ago at home to Crewe but the trophy won’t be presented until the last home game of the season. Sort of works like that I guess.
We risk a points deduction if we field weakened teams so in theory we could still lose the title. We won’t of course. Or found guilty of irregularities like Reading and get a point’s deduction, won’t happen either. But If they paid out and that was to happen they would have all sorts of problems getting their money back. No big deal waiting is it. Only a few more days to wait.
He did you a favour. Imagine if the unthinkable happened. He would lose his job.

He didn't do him a favour. He fulfilled the terms of the bet. William Hill paid out straightaway on mine.

William Hills also wouldn't pay until the end of the season with the same reason.

I suppose there's always a faint possibility of a points deduction for any team. So, they seem justified in not paying up until the league is actually finished.

I say :- Who are the Tossers, bookies or gamblers? When the bookies quickly take your money, but reluctantly hand it out. See the media today. The public have to be protected from their own foolish ways. Put simply, gambling is a mug's game.

With the squad we have,is it possible to put out a weakened team? And Wellens over the season has often changed the team around, so there is a precedent

Why would they pay out? The season isn't officially over and if we got a points deduction or something similar they would be out of pocket
It's always been the same

Weird, maybe there's a difference between in person and online as I could withdraw my winnings on Sunday.

I also had a bet online with W.Hills, they paid out Saturday evening on a E/W bet Orient to win the league

Thinking that the beating of Mansfield puts the weakened team thing to bed.

What if something happens at the game that results in a points deduction, perhaps they should check with the EFL first
