Give the man the rest of the weekend off!

He’ll be digging out the Starbucks loyalty card first thing on Monday. Lot of lattes to be sipped this summer.

He was on the phone, on the pitch, while everyone else was celebrating. Hopefully to El Mizuni’s agent.

Is being involved with 3 promotions while at Orient some kind of club record for an individual? Surely one of the most successful guys to work for the club. No relegations either.

I wonder if he was being congratulated by Deano, who also had a result today.

Yes , I'd say so .Obviously he has made a small number of mistakes but nobody can get everything right

Id say Lings made a huge number of mistakes, but today isnt the day to list them, or be negative, so I'll leave it there.
Richie is the reason we're so good and are champions. Richie the best manager outside the premier league

Ling worked for free when Travis took over, achieved 1 promotion as manager and a further 2 as sporting director, whilst also being a great player. Ling is an orient legend, but some fans seem to have some weird agenda against him.

This is just an odd and obviously wrong take, save your powder for when we lose 3-0 to Cheltenham next year.

He is a legend at Orient and one of the most important people at the club. No agenda in minimising hyperbole.

Quite correct - not today.
I'm sure you need a bit of thinking time to come up with the facts to back up your relentless, ridiculous personal vendetta against Ling.

Orient have been promoted only 7 times in 142 years - 6 times in my lifetime and as others have said, Ling has been involved in 3 of those.
That's a pretty decent record whichever way you choose to look at it. Although no doubt, you can find a negative in there somewhere.

Either that, or the last two promotions were completely down to Edinburgh and Wellens and Ling deserves no credit at all, in which case, he can't be at fault for the times we have finished mid table.
You can't have it both ways despite your efforts.

Wellens said recently that one of the best things about the setup at Orient is Martin Ling and pretty much every previous manager under the current regime has said similar. Personally, I'm happy to take the great man's opinion as fact (as well as making up my own mind). Wellens seems to be a pretty honest man in everything else he says so I have no reason to doubt his word.

Well done to Martin. He deserves our thanks as far as I'm concerned - not your continual sniping.

A common complaint is about the quality of players he brings in, and yes there have been some duds but the vast majority have been decent with some excellent signings. Even Sir Alex made some mistakes

Yeah, I’ve never really understood the amount of abuse he gets from some Orient fans.

How can it be that he gets all the blame for mid-table finishes and none of the credit for multiple promotions?

It’s entirely possible that the club would never have appointed Justin or Richie without him. Richie raves about him.

Fair comment and now is not the time to nitpick, however I’m not going to be two-faced and say that I’ve agreed with some of his decisions, but it’s no easy task running a business (because that’s what football has become) and trying to please everyone. Well done to the entire club🙊

Exactly Story and well said . That’s why I said nobody can get everything right. You don’t win two promotions in five years by bringing in bad players. After his holiday he needs to go again . He needs to bring in Richie’s choice of players to keep us in League 1. We all need to get behind Martin and support him

While I’m absolutely delighted we’re back in League 1 as League 2 champions, promotion from the National League was a touch better. To me getting back our league status meant everything.
